surfing CMON is slow, and banner ex slows down my site

The banner exchange code I\'ve inserted into every page of my site (www.pendragonstudios.be is starting to annoy me. My hosting provider access is lightning-fast, but the CMON server is having some serious capacity problems IMO. So when I open my site, the first part of the page shows up nearly instantly, but then the browser reaches the CMON banner exchange code and there I am waiting for 5-10 seconds for the rest of the page to load :(

Of course other sites are suffering from this (actually I\'m writing this message because of the slow response times when surfing the FaMP site  )

The banner exchange isn\'t my only concern, browsing CMON is also very slow the last couple of months, a gallery page can easily take up to 30 seconds or more to show up.

Don\'t get me wrong: I\'m a huge CMON fan and I don\'t want to sound rude or anything but the administrators of this site have to stop putting money of eBay commissions and member subscriptions in their pockets and do something about the capacity problems of their hosting provider! I understand this will cost some money but hey: THIS SITE HAS GROWN FUCKING BIG AND WILL KEEP ON GROWING! So sooner or later this upgrade will be necessary.

I\'ve been considering taking a subscription to CMON for a while, but the performance and the lack of updates has stopped me from doing so. I\'ve been ranting about all this in the past, I know, but now and then I need to ventilate some of that frustration :D

So I hope I didn\'t offend anyone :innocent:

Anyway I think this cry will go unheard once again :(

Peace!

Matey,

I think you missed Finns post!

CMON will be going down for about 24 hours while it gets moved onto a new server to speed everything up. This\'ll be in the next few days:D

Let\'s just hope and cross our fingers that this server switch is pulled off cleanly and swiftly....no bugs allowed.:)

Oh, there will be bugs....there always are...

Let us just hope they are of the minor, irritating kind as opposed to the \'kaboom\' wipeout kind:D

Speaking from experience, its amazing how many times ive had to deal with some pretty major bugfixes to clients websites, even though all your doing is taking an EXACT copy and moving it elsewhere.

But im sure CMoN will be fine! I dont mean to panic all you junkies..... :D
