Suspending flying....things

Hello all,

I\'m working on a model called Blacksting the Wyvern and want to so some minor conversions. Mostly I don\'t like the way the poor guy is standing on his tail :( :

So I\'ve cut his tail from the base and bent it upwards, and stuck a pin in his...well, his crotch area. I\'d like to suspend him from the base in a way that hides the pin (the thick paper clip) as much as possible. I was thinking of camoflaging the clip and using some long field grass, but thought that maybe you experts might have some other cool ideas, or at least have suggestions/links to other models where something similar was done.

What do you think?

Something I have that I think would do real good is a really thin guitar string. It\'s as thin or thinner than a needle and very stiff. One other trick is to make a tree-bush and have it \'touching\' the mini and suspend it from there. Good luck.

@Shawn, guitar string won\'t really hold, they are very very bendy and soft :)

But, I.. uhm, don\'t have any good ideas.

Depends what strings you buy...I have some that would serve as javelins, we aren\'t all Eric Clapton...:D

How about a upside down L shaped rod- with the connection being in the back between the wings. you could then sculpt a tree or rocks to cover the vertical portion of the support.

I guess I used the wrong word when I wrote \"suspend\", as I was thinking of the support coming from below. The idea of a hanging wyvern is a good idea though, it gives me something to think about.

Not to be all defensive but the guitar string I have is fairly strong as long as you dont try to hoist something too far up (mabey 2 inches).

You needn\'t have the wyvern quite wiping his arse on a tree or rock if you suspend it just 5mm above the tree. Such a short little piece is easily concealed with black paint, or some other neutral colour that blends in with the wyvern or the base. That way, the miniature doesn\'t really look attached, and you have a little more freedom as to what wire you use to suspend him.
