Everyone who says this is good for travelling... I\'m not sure it\'s that good for travelling by airplane. Someone mentioned the security staff being intrigued by this one...

First, you wouldn\'t want to check in a 235 euro box with all these little trinkets in. Imagine what the staff would do with it. Have you seen how they handle luggage?

Second, would you be able to take this with you inside the plane? Does it meet size requirements? Then, you wouldn\'t be able to have any sharp tools with you. No paints and chemicals, unless you pack them in ziplock bags, which sort of defeats the purpose of having them in this box.

Maybe if you travelled by car, but then space wouldn\'t be too much of a problem. That leaves train.... If you travel by train this might come in handy. But, you could save yourself some money and fix your own box.

Price is steep but it would be more about practicality for me.
I rarely travel abroad so that\'s not an issue, but when I go on holiday / away in the UK, I end up taking a box full of paints, then some miniatures, then my toolbox with everything in, then a lamp. Plus it would double as a painting area so It saves all the pfaff of sorting that out when i get to my destination.

But to answer your questions, the box is 20x16x9 inches which will fit online baggage requirements so it could be carried on.

I believe they have lifted most liquid requirements so you could carry your water based acrylic paints inside probably. Yes sharp tools would have to be checked. Same with spray aerosols they wouldn\'t be allowed anyways on the plane.

But this box would work great for the guy who has a small living space and wants to keep his supplies in one box, likes to paint at game clubs or the game shop.

Its not something Id buy, but I wouldn\'t fault anyone else for doing so if its what they want.

I would have loved to have this box three years ago. At the time, small house with no space for a hobby corner. Now, I\'ve got 1/8th of a basement with a full set of cabinets and sadly doesn\'t make as much sense. Wife\'d kill me if I spent that much money without a big need.

So, for all you parents/spouses of painters out there frustrated at the sprawl, here\'d be a great gift idea. I thoroughly approve.

The price tag, that\'s why! For that much money I think it\'s reasonable to question its usefulness. But, I\'m not telling people what to do with their money.

I checked some airlines I\'ve travelled with. For some airlines it meets the requirements spot on, but for some airlines it\'s one inch too thick. Some of them have a box with the maximum allowed measurements at the check in and the hand luggage must fit inside that box to be allowed on.

In the EU the rules concerning liquids still apply.

yeah thats really handy to know when you carry on is too big and it\'s too late to do anything about it!

i have found most of the carry ons to be bigger than they suggest. some people take the mick and have a couple of fair sized bags

I stand corrected, the carry on size restrictions is 22x14x9 so it is 2 inches too wide.
Also, there had been discussions about dropping the liquids but I guess not. Im not sure how many bottles/pots of paint you can get in a one quart zip lock bag.

Still in this hobby, Id never say anything about the price of anything being too high.

No that was my point, why question the price of this work case when you can justify the price of a Forgeword Model or any other model or worse yet paying or selling a painted $4.00 miniature for $300.00 plus dollars.

Value for the money goes to the consumer and no one else..
