I can\'t believe he didn\'t add Connor Mcleod\'s katana.
He didn’t mention the Kurgan\'s sword. It was snap together for goodness sakes!

Personally I think Inigo Montyoa\'s Rapier is better than the Braveheart Claymore. But then I never was really impressed with it. I agree that something from Highlander should be on list.

I woulda dropped the headless horsemans sword and the beastmaster\'s (gawd talk about a disturbing campy movie) moved the sword of omens up dropped william walace\'s way down the list (how can a big hunk of metal out do Excalibur for cryin out loud) would have made lightsabers #1 instead of a \"bonus\" I\'ll agree Conor McCleod\'s katana should have been there without a doubt. While not as popular or well known I think Lone wolf & cub\'s (also known as Shogun assasin) sword should be on there.

II\'d also like to see Link\'s Master Sword from Legend of Zelda (personal bias, I know) and Cloud\'s Buster Sword from Final Fantasy VII.
But I\'ve always been a video game guy. Amovie sword lasts 2-3 hours, a video game sword lasts 50-60 hours.

Then what about power swords?
Surely the emperors sword would be a fairly good place to go as well.

I believe the oversized katana is known as the nodachi. Possible spelling error. Anyway these things were approx 6 feet in length if I\'m not mistaken. Even my giant 6\'6\" friends don\'t have the arm length to draw one of these from a scabbard properly
Some quick research suggests a weapon size of approx 5 feet/135cm. I\'m not sure if that would be blade or overall length, because a katana with hilt can measure 1m or more very easily. Either way, when someone is running at you with a sword bigger than they are, it\'s pretty scary.
I think the list is pretty bunk. Nothing from Highlander, no Narsil/Anduril is a shame as well. Jacob Kell from Highlander: Endgame had a pretty awesome sword... somehow it turned into two swords at one point when he chopped the heads off all his henchmen at the dinner table.
I think he was ranking sword wielding heroes, and not the swords themselves.
Also: Lion-O\'s sword is a piece of garbage. I\'ve seen letter openers that are bigger than that thing, at least when he\'s not in combat. Did anyone else find it incredibly disturbing that his sword just sort of doubled in length whenever anything happened? I always got the impression it was some sort of adolescent erection control metaphor.
Okay, maybe that came in last year when Tom got the DVD\'s of Thundercats... I probably didn\'t think like that when I was like 5 and the show was on TV.

yeah the nodachi was a huge mother of a sword if memorey serves (I\'m to lazy to google atm) it was used by infantry vs cavalry and not really intended as a primary sidearm verse some of the speed those lil guys get at drawing and killing an apponent I\'d imagine a sword that big would be a bit cumbersome.
and back to 7 samurai the crazy peasant turned samurai had a nodachi he carried across his shoulders and if I remember right just kinda thru the scabard off when it was fight time.

It\'s a film made by fools and enjoyed by fools. Hollywood baloney all the way! And people actually believe it was historically accurate. Ah, sweet mercy!
Yip, that has to be my number one to. And be careful with those swords. They are light, fast and \"easy\" to handle. I cut myself so many times with them...allthough mine is not sharp like green destiny..
Side note: I loved the Chinese Sabre that can be divided into 2 swords. Have to get one of those on ebay one time.
And the nastiest sword/dagger ever invented goes to the indian. Its called Katar, has a handtrigger so that you can open the edges like a scissor when its inside the body of your enemy...than turn and twist...trigger again to close and take it out....no chance of survival and one bloody mess...you gotta love the indian swords
