Hi, in my playing group we are having two stances about the topic:
- One group says that the rulebook specifies that the OFFICIAL and unmodifiable tables sizes are 4x4 (120x120cm) or 6x4 (180x120cm aprox). And that the bigger size can Only be used in 50pts or larger games (legally speaking)
- The other group claims that the rulebook text is more "open" or "unclear", and that never specifically links a Game Size to the 4x4 tablesize. So one could think of the "Standard Game" mentioned in the rulebook as a 30pts game, and that for larger games its even more relaxed since it puts "Players May Wish".
For instance this group have been playing 40 pts games on 5x4 with very good results, specially if we talk about space for maneuverability of the units
So the Questions:
- Do you consider that Table Sizes of the rulebook are fixed to certain game sizes and that no other size its LEGALLY applicable?
- If so, what size do you suggest that goes for 30/40/50/larger?
- Its considered invalid or its a possible house rule/unnoficial mode to use a 5x4 tablesize for 50pts games?
If we could have an Admin/Tester/Final word about this, it would help us a lot to unify terms in our playing group, that luckily its growing every month.
Thanks a lot for your feedback and efforts to make Asoiaf one of the best wargames at the moment
