It WAS \"Concerning Hobbits\" but that wooden walkway ended up over toxic waste because I still can\'t do water. It turned cloudy. So I threw the comp by posting a lumpy old hobbit I painted back in 1992 with un-thinned craft paint. This way I can pick the next theme. Believe me, it won\'t have anything to do with water or walls. Maybe \"Old School\". Have them paint minis pre-1995 or something.

I\'m back! I didn\'t lose. Then again I didbn\'t actually get a game as the 40k tournament was under way. Last week there were no tournament games but I didn\'t take my army. Oh well, just watching helps me remember the rules, and the fact there\'re people to talk to.

I was really tired anyway, so I probably wouldn\'t have been able to concentrate enough. There\'s another round in the tournament to go so I don\'t know if I\'ll get a game then or not. Still, I had a good enough time.

And, to my astonishment, the past two weeks there have been female gamers there. There was one young girl there when I used to go before. I think she played Heroclix in the RPG room but there are two that have been playing 40k. One mature woman and the daughter of one of the regulers. I think she\'s already got the young lads wrapped round her little finger.

Okay, here are the photos of my current minis. I\'m not that happy with the photos. Trying to photograph metallics in a cramped space is tricky, especially with the one lamp. I tried to diffuse the light but obviously not enough as it still created it\'s own highlights.

I suppose it\'s a good thing I tried them now, some time before I submit them for voting. It gives me time to work on the photography side.

That reminds me. Liz, you said to remind you to give me instructions on how you made your light tent.

EDIT: Now you can see the minis, which of the bases do you think would look best?

me make a light tent.....snort...... I bought a commercial one off Ebay.

as to the bases, The two I like the best are the top left and center ones, plain, simple and won’t distract from the mini.

I just noticed, I put the increased brightness ones that I did for Undave\'s poor colour blindness. Let me put the \"normal\" ones up.

yep, bones buried in that kind of soil would be a lot darker, almost stained

I could do another test piece but I need to move on. Maybe I\'ll just try and darken the ones I\'ve already done and see if that works or not.
