Spazzy I understand what you mean. The last place we lived had a family of A**holes in the street.
Kids allowed to run riot, Mother rattling anything with a heartbeat, father thick as pigsh*t.
Despite shouting at the kids, arguing with parents, calling in the police, it eventually took an ambulance rushing me off to hospital for them to suddenly get the message. Quieted down after that.

Meg; Good for you standing up to a company that has refused to accept responsibility. If they are still not getting the picture, suggest that they have a number of choices, sort it out, talk to the press or talk to your Lawyer including issues over mental distress and sexual discrimination. (Hey if they are trying to treat you as a \"Dumb Woman\" show \'em your smarts and make em pay!)

You could always see if you can get them to lay a new floor in here while you\'re at it. It would save you having to clean this one for a day or so. We\'ve only been here for a week or two but there are already places where you can\'t tread without losing your footwear.

Sorry, DFD, I must have been thinking of a different company, thanks for sorting me out! :D

Well I\'d gladly take a bitch neighbor over having my brother\'s murder trial on Monday. So my problems aren\'t so small and insignificant. Though I TOTALLY feel your pain. I lived next to an aspiring rap artist for three years. He wondered why I was always a bitch. Then once he stopped playing his music in his room and I got a decent nights sleep (we shared a bedroom wall) I was sweet as pie. Funny how that happens.

I\'ve got a neighbor that got a new motorcycle for Christmas apparently and feels the need to just start the thing up in his open garage every night about 11pm and rev the engine a few hundred times. Being in his open garage, the sound is amplified something like 16 million times so that the end result is that everything around my house gets blown back about 4\" (okay a bit of exhaggeration but you get the idea).

I\'m quite tempted to walk across the street, knock the little poser off that freakin\' hog and put a .45 round through the block.

...and I\'m a stoic person.

What gets me is that the monkey just revs the thing for like 15 minutes at a time. I don\'t think I\'ve seen him actually ride it more than about twice. Of course I\'d never really shoot his Harley, but the movie has played out in my head a few times. lol

btw, am I allowed to post here? I\'m not sure how I got in...I don\'t have a key. ???

Is this place freak only? Or merely freak managed?

Good job, so, are you getting ceramic tile or travertine? lol.

I think the crazy neighbor issue is a good one, might start a thread about it. I\'d like to see if anybody knows how I should handle mine...

BTW, Meg, hope everything turns out right with your brother. I don\'t want to ask you if he did it or not, but hopefully the results are just.

Yeah Spazzy I did win finally. I got my first great night\'s sleep last night.

As for my brother I had posted it on here a while back so it\'s nothing secret. My brother Joseph, 20, was at a house party and some kids that were not invited caused some trouble. They were turned away from the party at that point but came back with a handgun and fired 5 rounds at the house. Unfortunately my brother was on the porch with three other friends during this. He was the only one who was hit. It was a transverse shot to the abdomen which means it ripped through him side to side (not front to back). Basically he was gutted on the inside. He arrived at the hospital with no pulse but had it not been for an EMT in training and a nurse who were at the party (apparently it was two people who tried to save him) he would have been dead in 10 minutes from bleeding out.

He was medivaced to the best trauma hospital in the DC area. As soon as he arrived he was sent to surgery. He was on the table for five and a half hours and they finally had to stop because his body needed the time to rest.

Unfortunately there was a ton of internal bleeding and complications arose. He tried fighting for several days. Once he developed pnuemonia I flew back home to say goodbye. That was the end and we all knew it.

I was at the hospital all day and all night until he went brain dead. We all talked about what to do and decided after many hours that we needed to stop his blood pressure medications. 10 minutes later he was gone from us.

While I was still home I went to one of the accomplices bond hearings and unfortunately she was let out. The other accomplice and the shooter are both still in jail and the first hearing is Monday. Proceedings should only take a couple of days since both of them have already confessed. Unless the motion is made for it, it will not be a jury trial. There will be a Grand Jury meeting which means it\'s the judge, the lawyers, the police and the US marshals who were involved.

The US marshals caught the perpetrators because they were in the process of fleeing Virginia. The night we left the hospital (at 3am) we were the only cars on the road save a string of police (maybe about 6 cars) all driving in the direction we were going. We found out later that was the US marshals who caught Moran, Escobar and Smerbeck (the kids who killed my brother).

Fun times eh? Needless to say with my brother dying (that was just back in early February), some harassment issues at work, moving into my house and then having to deal with the floor . . . I\'ve been teetering on the brink of a nervous break down the past few days. I didn\'t know what I was going to do if Lowe\'s continued to give me a hard time. I\'m glad that\'s over. I am going to go probably next week to pick out my tile for my kitchen.

Meg, I am so sorry for your loss. I have two younger brothers and can\'t even imagine.....You and your family will be in my thoughts and prayers.

Thanks Wen.

For anyone who didn\'t see the request my family made, here it is again.

Remember that every life you touch there is a reason for it. Always strive to be a positive influence for others and minimize the negativity in life.

Joseph received 30 transfusions while in the hospital. If it weren\'t for that he wouldn\'t have even had a chance at survival. Please donate blood if you can. If you can\'t donate time to a cause that will positively impact the lives of others.

He got his new computer and posted a bit n the mancave last week but I expected to hear more from hiom as well. With his health issues I worry about him if he\'s not around.

Shall we send out the hounds to look for him?

Release the hounds!

It\'s Monday everyone! Hopefully it won\'t be a \"case of the Mondays\" Monday. I\'m hoping today is a good day that flies by rather quickly. In fact I want the whole week to fly by quickly.
