Why would we want the sun to come out? It\'s supposed to be cloudy and rainy. It\'s always that way in Ireland . . . makes for a more authentic St. Patty\'s day! :)

Nah, just on a Diet. Hence even the idea of a Beer\'s would be putting the pounds back on. :D
But slowly losing a little weight, I\'ve moved my belt another notch in.

There ya go!

Really you should order it sometime.

Any time I order a Roy Rogers I laugh when the waitress/waiter asks to see my ID. I just look at them, giggle, and say That\'s a cherry coke please :)

Catfish Highball? That sounds...disgusting.

Meg, sorry about your brother, but mostly I\'m just sorry that people are that far gone.

Sorry about the washer DR, and sorry about the diet, too. Taking the belt in another notch does always feel good, though.

Airhead, we\'re still running our furnace every day, probably will for the next month. Enjoy your warmth!

Give me a bucket of that beer! St Patrick\'s day is always bad luck for me! This year is no different. Just when I think I have everything set for a trip in May my work starts blowing me crap about it, telling me if I go I may not have a job when I get back. So I\'m going to get serriously drunk and cry for awhile.

They do this to me every time. The one time I actually got my anniversary off we both got food poisoning on the way to the hotel and spent 4 days trading places in the bathroom.

Now I just found out I\'m closing alone. I get to talk to all the drunk people with hotel complaints for all of North America by myself.

I should just stay home on St Patrick\'s day.

How much have you lost?
Not as much as Fran, who has dropped 10 kilos ready for her operation next week. Not easy for her as it was Steriod and Chemo build up.

But as I said I can fasten my belt a notch tighter, have a little space around the collar and am not snoring as much.

@Lizcam; I don\'t know anything about employment law in the US but that sounds exactly like a threat of dismissal for taking leave entitlement. Something that in the UK lawyers would have a field day over.

I\'ve got a couple of steps I need to go through before I get there but basically this is what happened;

I found out about this possible trip back in September but that dates weren;t firm. My work is supposed to change schedules based on performance every 6 months so my boss told me to wait to file for the vacation aproval until after the schedule bid. The bid was supposed to happen in Nov.

The bid has been put off evey month since. I\'m stuck with 3:30 to midnight right now but at least I get weekends off. In order to take my vacation I have to find people to cover my hours. My department is very small and very important to the running of the center and we run barely staffed at the best of times. Basically it doesn\'t matter if I get aproved or not, as long as I have a body in my seat I can take my trip.

But it\'s impossible to get a body in my seat if I don\'t know what hours I\'ll be working in May. Today I get to work and I find out they\'ve pushed back the schedule bid another month. I finally hit the roof about it and go to my bosses boss to try and get an answer as to what I should do.

First I was told that I probably won\'t get a good shift. I said I don\'t care what shift I get as long as I know what6 hours to cover. Then I get some BS about operations and handle time. Again I say I don\'t care as long as I know what hours to cover. Then I\'m asked if I have my tickets yet. I respond by saying, \"what difference does that make. All I need to do is get the hours covered. What hours do I cover?\" Finally she says well, you may not get aproval so I ask, \"so if I don\'t get aproval and I can\'t cover my hours and I take the trip that is costing me in excess of $2000.00 what happens?\" She says that I\'ll have to take attendance occurrances for it and if I\'m gone long enough it\'s job abandonment.

So I sit with my jaw in my lap thinking, \"I\'ve done everything you\'ve said to do and because you can\'t get up off your ass and do a schedule bid I\'m going to have to eat $2000.00 in trip fees or get fired?\"

I just walked out of her office. I\'ll go to HR tomorrow when I\'m calmer. We\'ll see what happens.

In the mean time I\'ve moved on to whiskey. Want some?

Liz, I don\'t know what the job market is there, but if it is like it is here, I\'d have told her that I am taking the company benefit granted to me by the corporation (vacation time). As a manager, it is her responsibility to keep the chair full once I\'ve notified you that I am taking vacation on that period.

If the company does not want you to take vacation, why do they give it to you?

(personally, I am not allowed to be off around the one weekend a month of the estimate. The other 3 weeks are fair game, but the end of the month usually sucks for my wife\'s job.)

Merlot tonight - thank you.

Ms. Meg, anything you wish for can be on the menu here. Mexican pickles? That would be jalopeno peppers sliced lengthwise, baked until slightly blackened, then filled with cream cheese. Very yummy.

Mr. Lloyd, please recite the rules of robotics to the little chap and give him a sip of liquid nitrogen. We\'ll miss Mr. Clark very much. As a total electronic entity, I too am saddened by his passing.

Ms. Spazzy, please distribute the last of that green beer. Seems Ms. Pony ordered way too much - again. Oh, and how did the test go? Get any studying done?

Bubba, no I mean Fried Dill Pickles. In spears if you please. The fried spears just seem better than the fried pickle chips. But it has to have a side of ranch dressing. Mmmmm good!

Thanks man!
