Talisman Digital Edition is Coming!!

At last we have some online Talisman multiplayer gaming coming our way!!! Games Workshop's Talisman has always been my favourite boardgame, when you have all the expansions is a very well rounded adventure game, simple with enough complexity to keep it interesting without bogging the game down with endless rules. Anyway, if you have Steam you will be able to add it to your "wishlist" and try it out for free I believe.

Anyway Digital Edition means we can have Talisman games with anyone which is awesome. I have set up a Facebook community page where people can go to arrange games amongst each other. I don't know how there gaming browser will work, but I wanted to add a more social element to meeting up for games. I have the thumbs up from one of team members of Nomad Games who think its a great idea. So if you are a Talisman fan and intend to get this game next week head on over to my page and like it!

I'd love to do some games against other CMON members. It will give you a chance to play against the greatest Talisman player alive in the world today. Not that I'm trash talking ya, but bring it on....

Says it releases 14 October, but I'm not seeing any pricing? If it's not too much (already blown entertainment budget this month on Batman: Arkham Origins) count me in!

I think if you add it to your "wishlist" you get to play it early for free! So I have heard from one of the testers. They were going to do beta testing for it but that didnt happen for some reason! Anyway, join my page if you are on Facebook mate, I want to get the ball rolling on getting some people on there as I got the thumbs up from Nomad Software on it.

Yeah, been waiting for Talisman for a long time. Got a little annoyed when Capcom canned it for xbox! PC gaming seems very Steam focused these days, but the Nomad games team got the Greenlight from them so it will be coming to the masses at last!!!

To clarify Talsiman Digital Edition is being released around November officially and this is "Early Access" - play for free testing. The new Ridge Racer game is also on "Steam Early Access" and its says you can download that free and play for a while. So this is the same deal.

Well turns out it's £11.99 - still a good price for a game that is £40+ in boardgame form. Has the bonus of allowing play across the world of course which is great!! I completed my first game across the AI. One sound bug hit me, duly reported. Couple of others had it to. You have to be careful with your clicking to, I lost my first game because of a hasty click...

Plays quite nicely. When all the cards are in from all expansions this will be totally awesome!!!

Nomad Games have posted an update that they are testing online in the offices and I therefore guess it will be up and running very shortly indeed. Nomad have also posted on their Facebook page a link to my gaming community Facebook page, so that's nice to have some backing there. If you like Talisman join up and we can arrange some games soon. It's a bargain at £11.99 on Steam. The expansions have been priced at £3.99 for small ones and £4.99 for the expansions that have additional boards which is a reasonable price. the Reaper expansion is available on full commercial release which is slated for November/December. The game does have bugs, luckily people are reporting the same kind of things, so hopefully not many. There are however some improvements I would like to see in the game in general. Its not communicating whats going on as well as it could IMO. Still early days...

Exciting news! I'm actually in the process of painting up the figs from a friend's set as practice for my own mini projects. I'm fairly new to the hobby with only a few minis under my belt but I got sucked in real quick. Finally joined the CMoN today after months of lurking and my first two minis (the Wizard and the Sorceress) are waiting for approval for posting

Cool. They look tricky to paint. I will be doing the Relic busts at some stage but not the Talisman sets. As I have all expansions that is way too many too paint. And I want to ZOmbicide in any case first! I am sourcing alternative 30mm figures for Talisman. I will sculpt a base, get it cast and then paint 30mm figures for it. Way easier.

The minis in the digital edition of the game are digitally painted by the Nomad teams Artist.
