Tanhauser Miniatures

I thought these were so cool, I thought it worth duplicating the post from my forum:

Okay I have to admit knowing nothing about Tanhauser, it\'s a French Boardgame and that\'s about all I know.

What I just found are some amazing minis for the boardgame for sale on their site. Check these out:

You can get these guys here, they will be coming from France though, so no clue what the cost will be:

I\'ve been watching for these for some time...

I think Fantasy Flight Games will carry the English Version of the game, and hopefully those fantastic minis!

Have you seen the painted versions as well?

No actually. Taking a bit more of a look around the site. I was just checking my usual gaming news sites and caught a link to those unpainted minis and was really impressed, and thought I would share.

Took a look. Odd they are being compaired to AT:43 and other Pre-painted mini games. It\'s really just a boardgame. My copy of Monster\'s Menace America came with pre painted minis if you want to think of it that way.

Looks extremely interesting though, I have to admit I boardgame more then I roleplay or fight mini battles. This ones going right on my wishlist.

Interesting having the targetting difficulties and cover marked right on the board. Only issue I can see, and it\'s just from the pamflet is that replayability could be low. But it looks pretty easily expandable.

Speaking of boardgames with cool minis, have you seen the ones that come with Runebound, I was very impressed with those as well, though they don\'t come pre-painted.

Did a bit more diggin, an english version is coming from FF (which is great as they are pretty much the best Board Game designers out there now a days). The French version is already out and for sale, and you can find english rules online... interesting. Though I will probably wait for the FF version. 2-10 players as well, that\'s a nice touch, you don\'t get many games with more then 6 players.

On a whim I typed this in my browser and it worked:

FF also has a forum section dedicated to Tannhauser, interesting to note people talking about other armies, including Russian.

Don\'t you just hate it when you\'re trying to save some cash and someone points up some cool figures? lol

Nice figures, I\'m liking the two centre ones in each picture the most. :innocent:

A little disappointing however was when I read in the contents list of the box that these are \'pre-painted\' minis. To bad really.

Yep Forgeworld have just done that to me again as well by bringing out the DKK figures for the trenches and to go in the gorgon

Actually I like most of them except for the last one on the top row which has a very Rackham look to it

Tim they look like they are resins but I think a lot of people will be put off if they only come as part of the board game and not so much the pre painted side of it.
I need some friends now to justify buying a board game :D

Edit: damn had to edit this wanted coloured text but for some reason it wouldn\'t do it :(

They look as though they\'ve been sculpted and cast by the same person/people who do AT-43.

If they are of a similar quality, they\'ll be dead easy to repaint (or to highlight up and finish properly!) as the AT-43 stuff is pretty well produced.

Certainly appeals to me. I\'ll have one of those as soon as they get an English language version out!

I just bought them. Just over 12 quid for the lot including tracked shipping. Winner :)

They\'re injection moulded plastic. Here\'s a bigger picture:

Not looking forward to removing those bases though. That looks as though it\'ll be a delicate operation...

Scott, since they are plastic get yourself some brand new sharp single edge razor blades. The type used for scraping paint or used in box cutters. with a brand new sharp blade you should be able to sliuce those models right off the bases under the beet with easy. The plastic should be fairly soft compaired to high impact styrene.
