Hi all
Be gentle, this is my first submission!
Just put this Forgeworld TAU XV84 battlesuit up last night...
http://www.coolminiornot.com/111814
I used to pait minis when I was in my early teens, and have just got back into it after a 15yr break. I\'ve painted three mini\'s since getting back into the flow at Xmas and this is the third of those. It just won 1st place at a small regional GW painting comp.
Took around 27 - 29hrs inc the re-modelling of the guns (addition of an ejection port on the minigun, the ejecting shells etc)
I\'m really hoping to have a stab at the UK Golden Demon later this year, and I know I can do better than this... so looking for some useful and constructive criticism to help me improve my painting.
I\'ll start the flow by saying that having finished the model, I now think that the combination of the dramatic highlighting, plus the graphically heavy details (the orange line-work) makes the whole thing a little over-complex, and you loose some of the shape and definition of the model as a result...
But there are some nice bits I\'m quite proud of and some things that worked well which I\'ll certainly use again.
what does everyone else think?
Ben
