Tau Battlesuit Titan Project WIP

This is my first post and I wanted to start by showing off work in progress on my latest scratch build project, A Tau battlesuit Titan.
Now I know Tau don’t yet officially have Titan’s but that’s one of the reasons why i decide to do this, because I could pretty much build what ever I wanted and let my imagination go, while still trying to keep to the Tau aesthetic of course.

Well, cor and blimey. This may be your first post, but something tells me this isn't your first conversion...

Lovely work - you've kept things firmly within the tau aesthetic, and at the same time made something unique. Bravo! Are you planning on painting it? Regardless, I'm looking forward to seeing what you produce next :)

Thank you all for the comments their most appreciated, here's a quick update.
The Base has been finished as has the drone dock , this will hold four gun drones plus a repair / technical drone, which I've built from odds and ends.

I've also given it a quick undercoat, which was quite thin so it may need another one.

I just have a few more bits to finish, including the pilot, but apart from that it's almost done.

Lovely! To parrot MiJ, Not your first scratch build/ conversion?
Secondly! Welcome to the mad house! It's nice to see new 'faces' around, and ones with you talent! Of course you haven't helped yourself by setting the bar high :smile-big:

Ok, thirdly. Critique; the burst cannon on the left arm is to small. The mounting armature looks heavier then the gun itself. Plus this is in the weight class of a light titan (warhound) which generally means to super heavy weapon systems (one on each arm) with the possibility of a third light mounted elsewhere. Maybe a rework or a bulking up on the cannon? B. Where's the engine in this thing? It seems to me that most Tau suits have the engine/powerpacks mounted a top of the shoulders and running down the back. You've got the shoulders but ended it there and mounted the; C. Drones. I'm not a fan of how the drones are mounted. Too me it looks 'tacked' on. The drone mounts on the 'official' GW stuff visually integrate the drone into the vehicle, it's parts of the vehicle breaking off and attacking you from different angles not separate units, if that makes any since. Maybe some sort of flip-up wing, or flip-up lid on a couple storage hangers on the back, just something to intergrate them into the whole suit a bit more.

Oh well, just my two cent. Either way keep up the good work!

Thank you for the welcome and thanks for the input. Your right about the Drone dock it was a bit of an after thought on my part, and probably should be integrated more with the whole. As for the engine I did put together two cylinder shaped energy cell things, but decided not to use them as I thought it made the back look a little chunky. Good point on the burst cannon it definitively looks too small for the mount, and if i have the time I mite try and make a larger one.
I'm not going to change too much on this now though as i'm planning on selling it soon, maybe if I get to make another one I can put the improvements into that, Of course if i do make another one i'll be using the new riptide model as a base with a couple hammer heads for details, and few piranhas to finish it off.

Well, what do you know - this is pretty much as cool as Fil Dunn's XV202, if not even cooler. Might have the possibility to make me start tau again (they were my first 40k army, actually)

Thanks very much, it was actually seeing Fil Dunn's work over a year ago now that inspired me to build me own.

After receiving some constructive criticism and a little extra build work I've finally finished the Battlesuit.

I decided to replace the old small burst cannon mounted under the Battlesuits left arm, with a bigger scratch built one, which seemed to make more sense considering the Battlesuits size.
Here's a few pics below, once my camera's charged up I will be adding a lot more.

thank you to everyone who commented throughout this project, it made a huge difference hearing your thoughts and ideas, thank you again.
