tried a battlesuit conversion sometime ago when i broke my hand and decided to revisit the idea for this years open catagory.
something a bit different i think, very dark , very gritty and i hope very moody. i wouldn\'t want to be stalked by this sniper. although i love the battlesuit figure i also love mecha in general and wanted to convert a more dynamic suit during a long campaign. hope you like it

sweet converting mate and top painting.

love the gritty feel.

no wonder i couldn\'t bloody find it in the cabinet, it\'s well dark and subdued.
i was looking for a squeeky clean eavy metal style paint job lol

thanks for the nice comments guys.

@Dan. the feet, lower legs, gun, sheild thing and shoulder mounted weapon were all either scratch built or converted from other bits. the main body probably had the most work though as it normaly has 2 square ports over the shoulders rather than the single circular on behind the head, and the shoulders had to be widened to accommadate the arms. ill get some views sorted from behind too

Saw this whilst browsing Tau stuff on the galleries a while back and showed it to my mate, then saw it at GD and was like :O

I think its a great model, love the whole weathered/oxidised/rusting look :]

Saw this in the cabinet at GD this year and it was one of the models that really made me stop and look.... really nice, way too few people have really started to look at what can be done with the Tau stuff... there\'s way more scope in the whole manga-esque styling thing to do some really different stuff with it.

Weathering is just awesome.

Different is what they look for at GD though isn\'t it? I love it, it looks fantastic. Everything is so precise, from the little blue arrow on the gun to the OSL on the inside of the helmet.

PS: Your ork army in WD is my favourite of the 4 tale armies. I\'m so glad they got not 1 but 2 \'eavy metal painters to do it.

Fantastic colours and conversion -- the dark scheme on the snowy rockface is an excellent combination.

The work on the shield is incredible.
