Tau Devilfish WIP

I\'m working on this project for a local painting competition, so the craft will be put on a large display base when it\'s finished.

This looks really great, but before I scrolled down and saw the other pictures, I almost thought, at first sight, that he was coming up from a toilet seat *giggles*.
But seriously, I love the orange color and the pilot is really well painted. Perhaps the highlights on the ship could be a little smoother, but that\'s the only thing I can comment on. Great work!

Its great but... Couldn\'t you have done a cooler colour? Thats my only gripe.

I second the smoother highlights thing, and add that these flat surfaces are just begging for some freehand .

The highlights are quite smooth IRL. Actually I\'ve done 5 layers or so, but it\'s very strange: the picture seems to show only the two last stages :duh:

I know the surfaces look a bit too clean: I\'m going to do some weathering effects on the vehicle when it\'s fully assembled and painted.

It\'s here that my experience as a military modeller comes in handy

Yeah, the guy (together with the hatch) will be put in the hole right on top of the APC.

It\'s the wrong colour.....

I could be talking through my a*hole, I often do, but that is just not how I see Tau colouring. The image I carry in my mind is of a desert tan, designed to blend in with sand perhaps (I haven\'t read the fluff, so I don\'t know). Either way, I see it as a butch, masculine colour, whereas your shade seems a little too....? I don\'t know....It just reminds me of my mum\' kitchen and not a warmachine.....
Your painting is up to it\'s usual exceptional quality...it\'s just that damn colour...Sorry...

I like the painting but the edges could be a bit smoother. And the color is just not my type...

I like the colour, its a sort of salmon pink (at least according to my eyes). Its not exactly a colour you see widely used, so it will definately stand out

(and yes, that alien does look like he is coming out of a toilet bowl )
