if you have the tau codex it explains it all. white on the bottom of the shoulder pad generally shows a leader and then the \"dags\" are used to describe which group and so forth. you could also check out tauonline.com. i painted a tau army a few years back and had a blast with them. what sect are you doing?

Haven\'t decided yet. I\'ve just spent the last couple of months painting things bone coloured ( Mortifactors and Tyranids) so I was in dire need of something to paint that wasn\'t bone coloured. Still reading through the codex trying to get a feel for the race before I make any decisions that I might regret!
