Taunt order

Hello.
So the order : Taunt states that you pick an enemy within long range and they must charge or attack the taunting unit IF ABLE. If they perform a different action or they receive two condition tokens.
My question is: if there is a bog in between the two units and the distance between said units is 12 inches, can the unit being taunted still perform the charge? Going through the bog will subtract 1 inch form their movement so without any modifiers it would be impossible to make the 12" inch charge.
I taunted my opponent to intentionally make his unit go through the bog and fail the charge but he said that since his unit couldn't make the charge to start said unit wasn't an eligible to be taunted. Is this correct?
The rules make it seem like you don't consider terrain before determining if a charge is possible. For example, impassible terrain. If , while charging, your unit comes to impassible terrain it stopes 1 inch away and the charge is failed. The point is the charge was still attempted instead of deeming it unable to charge due to the intervening terrain .

Your interpretation is correct. The unit can still be targeted by Taunt, and terrain is considered when resolving the charge, not when checking eligibility. If the bog reduces movement enough that the unit cannot reach the target, it must still attempt the charge and then fail. In that case, it has still followed Taunt and does not take the condition tokens. Block Blast
