TD's Seed soldier WIP

Hi everyone,
started painting my seed soldiers. But thought I could use some feedback and suggestions on my progress from the community so that I can make changes to the model while I work on it.
So here it goes...

What concerns me is the blending on the left leg (thats all that is done for now :D). Would be very great if you could tell me if blending is smooth enough or should I try to improve it, are shadows placed correctly for the muscles and anything else you can think of .
I didn't want to move on to paint rest of the model as I wasn't sure if I'm putting the paint on correctly :struggle:.
Let the critisism begin...

Mold line on the right leg. Flash between the toes and around the foot on the left leg needs to be cleaned.

Damn, I haven't noticed it myself until Bloodhowl pointed it out :embarrassed:. Looks like more filing for me, thanks.

Yes. Ever since the great "is it a mold line or sculpting anomaly" incident on my own WIP, my mold line senses have gone into hyperdrive!

The painting looks to be off to a good start. From the photo the transitions are looking pretty smooth and correctly placed so far.

mold line on round the thumb and fingers right hand and down the right leg.

the leg is looking quite nice. don't think that i've seen a day glo skin color before. curious to see the finished product.

I never notice that last mold line until I post a picture of it. That's why you should post early and often!

the blending is looking very nice to me. As for the flash, yeah - get filing that bad boy :) I have the same problem myself. tbh, I think we probably all do. It comes down to how much time youre willing to put in. For display/bestest best scores on CMON, you have to go back and fix bits. For army painting, I'm much more inclined to just say "sod it."

As for light positioning, it may be just me, but I thought that maybe the highlights could be extended a little more (or the shadows reduced) on his leg nearer the groin.

the circled bit should be lighter, I mean.

ps : how odd - CMoN wont let me upload the pic direct to the post. hmmn....

Updating the progress. I was a bit lazy lately so not much is done. Anyway, here's what I got for now.

I consider shins and left foot done (maybe they'll get few touches later), also started working on the belly.

Feel free to go hard on me :), I could use some good advices.

That's a lovely outcome dude. I love that skin!

There is only one thing that i would suggest. You could try using a lighter color on the top parts of the miniature such as the head, arms etc. As i see it now, all of the light zones on the miniature are painted with the same colour, and doing this you could improve a lot the outcome :D

Your paint looks fine, impatient to see the armor painted. Try to find a color which has a good contrast with the skin and it will look perfect.
I agree on bou87 comment but it is often (from my side, always) forgotten, I am always afraid to loose some contrast by doing so... but it looks much better indeed just have a look at the high rated painted mini on CMON.

At last... finished skin on second seed-soldier. I was off from painting for some time (got other things to do, waited for new brushes to arrive, etc.).
So here it goes:

Tried darker spots this time, just for variation.
Please, feel free to comment and suggest.

Now I'll be moving to paint armor. Problem is I haven't decided what color I want it to be, my mind is spinning around dark blue or dark red.
Any suggestions on color choice would be great.
