TechStar Snow

Hi there, I\'m wondering if anybody has had any experience working with Techstar snow. I\'m having a lot of trouble keeping it on the base, Put down Superglue and sprinkle (well, more like pour with this stuff) it on and wait a while and then almost all of it comes off, the only solution is to drip the super thin superglue over it, but that makes it look kinda crappy and lets off some nasty fumes. Any help would be appreciated, thanks.

layers...

I like the looks of that Techstar stuff, but it is tough to work with.

I just recently used this on it, and it seemed to work;

Put down a thin coat of superglue, dip the base in, just like any flock, tap to remove excess.

Then dip it again a few times.

Now after about 10 minutes or so repeat the whole process.

I was finally happy with the results after about 3 complete repeats...

On another mini,I tried mixing it as a paste with superglue, it does make it look slushy and kind of cool, but I wanted a more \'fresh snow\' look.

I haven\'t tried that technique with PVA yet...

Good luck.

Kat, I appreciate that method working with the woodland scenics snow (which I\'d like to go over with you sometime, it\'s quite a good method) but this TechStar Snow stuff is just so different I don\'t think it would work, having both of them right here in front of me.

The TechStar stuff is so extremely light and strongly affected by static it\'s impossible to use like normal flock, especially with PVA. The best tactic I had was to do the old double-superglue trick you had, as you can see on my Valten here: http://www.coolminiornot.com/index.php?id=40180

Comparing this to the old pic from Jen Haley (http://www.wegotgame.net/jen/basing.html) it\'s not nearly as good. Her advice might work for something that will never ever get touched again, but in my experience the snow just won\'t stay on there.
