Try painting them yellow first and then highlighting the tips white - seems to work ok. Either that, or try a very light brown, then white tips.

Also another good method to try is a 50/50 Bone White/Filthy Brown (Vallejo Colors) (GW is Bleached bone/Vomit Brown) mix highlighted up to done white. This will give them a nice dirty look.

I use a several thin coats of paints in ascending order vermin fur, vomit brown, a cheap craft paint called maple sugar, another one called old parchment , then ivory then the tip I usually paint white

I\'ve had problem with bones, horns and things like that but for most of the time, I use a gray instead when doing teeth. White is just too bright, unless they\'ve got uber-dentists in the game.. :p

I think It\'s more of a problem of the colors I\'m using. I stat with a black basecoat and then put on some dark brown (GW Sorched brown) then blend up using different GW browns until I use an off white. Another problem is making the lines that looks like it\'s cracked.

If I used this for teeth, they\'d look like the things the medical community shows you to shock you outta cigarettes! ..Not like these > :D

Nails fer Sog Sog...

Hay Buddy,me can fix fix...
:D

Ready?
:bouncy::idea:

Start with a white base, reguardless of your primer, then get the \"Future Wash\" ready.

1)
Glaze the nailes with a mix of 1/2 & 1/2 white and bleached bone.

2)
Now do 1/2 the nail with your scorched brown and any mid tone of brown(snake bite, fermine fur, ect)

3)Wash with a dot of white glue in a 1/2 & 1/2 black schorched brown mixture.from the toe, finger to about a 1/4 of the lenght. This should be very thin.

4)Tip with white and bleached bone to taste.

5)Finish with the same black/scorched mix....but now DO NOT add white glue to the wash....then simply build up the thine pigment with ever thinning lines, this will give you the deepening of the cracks you want in your nailes, sort of like a reversed highlight.

This is how the \"Evil Empire\" does it,I was doing it for years afore I read it more or less the same way I do it,in a White Dwarf...

lol

I was a canvas painter for 10 years, and this is how you do a lot of stuff in that art form,so I`m basicly do`n the same with minis....and that is why I don`t have that GW look or nmm stuff down....I also only do the above for \"MY\" stuff...as most folk won`t pay for the kind of time it takes to do this very effective and time consumeing approach.

:]

Lets see how you do with this....

I bet you`ll do it good!

Considering the fact that orcs never go to the dentiste I would aso try adding a couple of black teeths. Maybe you can make look like he still has bits of foos still stuck between them to :D

frenchkid reminds me of some orcs I made with a few gold teeth mixed in with the normal and rotted ones.

Also, orks use \"teef\" for moneys, so why don\'t more have teeth missing on the actual model? I remember that the old fluff had the Bad Moon tribe growing their teeth bigger and faster, so maybe orks regrow teeth like sharks? With the exception of Grimgor Ironhide, I\'ve yet to see alot of broken orc teeth. On another tangent, though, I have a character for Mordheim called \"Ol\' Uzguz\", it\'d be pretty funny If I could make some dentures for him! :p

teefs

I\'ve tried several of the techniques above with much success. Every orc/goblin model I paint, I try to do something different. The last Goblin Fanatic I painted I experimented on the teeth and it came out quite well.

1. I painted the entire mouth Blood Red.

2. I mixed 1 part Blood Red with 1 part Tenticle Pink. I painted this on the actual teeth.

3. I mixed 1 part Blood Red to 2 parts Tenticle Pink. I highlighted the teeth with this. I made more of this mixture than I needed for one coat.

4. I mixed 1 part Palid Flesh with 1 part of the mixture from step 3. I did another highlight with this.

5. I did one last highlight with Palid Flesh.

The result was a mouth that looked like it had taken a fresh bite out of something living. That or a seriously diseased mouth. I liked it. I called that model Gingivitis. Someday I\'ll post it.

This mouth works better with goblins because they just seem so much more wicked, but I use it on the occasional Orc with good results.

Even for my humans I don\'t use white on the teeth. Teeth are not white. They are a pearl color. I used Palid Flesh as the brightest color for my teeth, no matter what race.

Ork teeth

G\'day, I have a lecture in about fifteen minutes so I\'ll have to keep this brief. I\'d have to say that Chrispys technique work a treat. Basically you just base coat the teeth (GW) Scorched brown then wash all the teeth with a 50/50 mix of Chaos Black and Scorched brown (however don\'t be afraid to experiment). Now just carefully layer the teeth from the base up with gradual successive highlights. Bestial brown, Snakebite leather, Leporous Brown, Bleached bone than perhaps a little white on the tips. Keep your paints really watery and thrown in the odd (really thin) wash just to smooth your highlights. I\'ve used this technique before and I must say that I was pleased with the results. Another idea is to give your little guy a gold tooth. Hope this helps. Got to go...:)

Here\'s my $.02

Here\'s how I paint teeth, and it looks alright on the warboss/ 3 nobz I have painted.

1. Basecoat with chaos black.
2. I use 50/50 GW Chaos Black/Ral Partha (cleric) tauren bown over the whole tooth. (Cleric is the name they used when they made D&D Paints, Tauren is
the new one).
3. lighten the mix with more tauren brown, and highlight.
4. repeat step three, highlitghting less of the tooth.
5. mix tauren brown with bleached bone (about 1:2) and highlight even less of the tooth.
6. highlight with pure bleached bone.
7. the very tip is white
8. glaze the whole thing with extremely watered down tauren brown
9. layer the gums, but leave a small blackline between tooth and gum.
DONE!!

It takes a while, but I think it looks pimpin\'.
