People putting countless hours into something the general public typically takes no interest in.
Taking pride in your fellow countrymen so that when they reign supreme you too can feel superior to people of losing countries.

second off...the finals for mens gymnastics is on tonight...i almost like them more than the womens...groups to watch, romaina and the us.

cooties - anything that comes from boys when your a girl or girls when your a boy...in the years before you like/understand romance....

Sitting here watching them as I type. I just want to know, why don\'t the ladies ever streak? Why is it always the men? Just once I\'d like to see a female streaker, but then I guess the ladies have more sense than that don\'t they lol

Yeah, and that\'s soo not in the spirit of the ancient greeks...
I\'m most looking forward to the 100 meter sprint, and maybe some of the biking events. They should really introduce downhill mountain biking, which takes a lot more skill that just riding fast around a track.
Who votes for womens mud wrestling to be inducted into the olympics? I could easily replace something silly, like table tennis.
