The attention to detail is amazing and I especially like how you\'ve tied the overall color scheme in with such little things as green banding in the middle of the Imperial Eagle wings on his chest.

It\'s also a pleasure seeing real metallics used to such great effect - the blending and transition between shade and highlights is awesome.

If I had anything to quibble about, it\'s that the red stripe on the shield-shaped guard on the right shoulder doesn\'t look exactly centered at the bottom in comparison to the rest of the shield and the mid-set stud. It\'s probably the angle of the photo and the guard itself that making things look skewed slightly, though - or just me!

I really like your gold metallic parts - it looks like they have an undertone of maybe GW Chestnut Ink or something similar. Would you mind sharing your recipe for how you painted the gold metallics? (I generally use a basecoat of Brown Ink and Shining Gold for mine, but I don\'t have a full range of metallics yet - some of \'em died on me while in storage.)

thanks for the comments guys.

what do you think about the different back grounds?

@tinweasel - i think the red band is down to the angle of the photo because the sheild thingy curves out at the bottom. i always start my golds with a mixture of scorched and shining gold and a bit of Dark angel green;)

I could have sworn that I already posted a comment, but, meh, here it is again.

I love the conversion, and the pose with the sword is reminiscent of one of the Mark Gibbons Dark Angels drawings. Most impressive. Asmodai to be specific.

I wish you\'d do more Tau, I loved that conversion you did a while back -- well both of them actually.

Looks awesome. I\'m curious what colour the banner winged sword is, looks cool, but odd and I can\'t work out if its metals or not.

great conversion.
the paint looks ace.
my favorite part is the face...the subtle color washes to give the face cool shadows and warm hot spots on the cheeks. great face.
your metallics look near perfect. the chest eagle color change is a nice touch, never thought of painting the center wings as gems.
black background looks much better.

cheers :beer::beer:

Very well done.

I must say I do prefer it in the second picture though. I think it shows off the colours better.
That face is awesome :D.

that\'s a really nice paint job, I don\'t see anything to critique. The color selection is just right, blending is great and freehand well done, even the marble base looks great.

2 more things I have to say:

1). I like the body conversion you did (only just noticed it)

2). Please can we have a tutorial.
