well, this is the first one of these i have ever done, but i would love all possible comments and ideas, so far, the very basis of the model has been created, im hoping to cover the model with scriptures and purity seals. althought one problem still arises, colourscheme >????
but here are the pics.

it sure do look good! I must say that it really looks promising, you should sculpt something nice on the right shoulder pad though! ;D

Looks really promising so far, the pose is really good!

For colourscheme....maybe you could make up your own chapter... paint it with Egyptianesque iconography as you already have the Ushabti stave and the cloak gives you some opportunities for mural type freehand, like in Egyptian tombs.

Anyway, just my opinion - go with whatever coloursheme you want! It is your model after all!

Very nice conversion.

One point is that the metal base from the marneus calgar box set? if it is you will need to get rid of the giant U on it, if not hey sweet, i agree witht the shoulder pad comment a little sculpting perhaps?

i like the pose and the use of the ushabti blade rather than just the grey knight wep. if you leave the shoulder pad blank you will have some room for freehand

@Larre my sculpting really isnt up to scratch but my freehands are so ill probably leave it blank and freehand something over the top
@OrkBoy the egyptian idea sounds really cool, and is definately something i could
go into depth with. thanks for that.
@Bignastyshark yes that is the base from the marneus calgar box, BUT the big \"u\" is gone

thanks for all the comments its great to get feedback (and nice to know you like the pose). i\'ll have some updates soon when i get some more purity seals or decided to make them myself.

seen as i always have a few models on the go at once, here is something istarted to pass the time

how do you do the subtle checks on the ork nob, i have seen a lot of the around, but don\'t know how the paint it!???

this was the first time i tried out the checkers myself.

to do dark chekers over light:-
-i used my shading colour(snakebite i think)
- thin until its like a milk consistancy
-paint each checker
-wait for them to dry ( the first time u paint them they should be barely noticeable)
-(when completely dry)go back over places u want to be darker
-repeat the above 2 steps until u are happy.
- then touch up by washing all of the checkers with the colour of the hat (i used a mix of yellow and white

I think that the ork looks amazing! the only thing that bothers me about is the skin... smoother highlights on it, and the ears on the cap should be green, not yelow and because of my personal taste i think you could mix in a bit brown in it, a... yellowish brown, like bubonic brown... or maby graveyard earth

oops, i didnt actually know they were ears,,,,i thought they might have been ear flaps, but that can easily be sorted ^^.
in the beginning, i just felt like bodging an orc together, testing out a different method for skin, blended checkers and o, learning to paint over white for once not bad i think.

i have just started making some purity seals for the terminator, so ill have some new pics soon
