Haven't been too active on the forums recently, but had to chime in and say how cool this flat is. I really like. A true piece of art.

I started the tiny freehand on the other side of the front red part of the what ever it's called (sash, robe?) Something is not exactly the same, not sure what it is or maybe a combination of few things. I think for starters it's not yellow enough to match the other side or maybe it's not as tight, let's just hope it wont show to much at the end. I forgot all about my recipe for this and I can't seems to find my good tiny detail brush as well so I had to try a BUNCH of brushes and they are all not as good as my old brush.

suggestions are welcome

Think it may be both (yellow and tightness), although the more I look at it I think once the whole area is complete it will bind together better though... anyways, I’m relatively new to this site so I haven’t seen this guy before, and must say exceptional work!!! That freehand all over the armour is brilliant, I’ve never seen a marine with this before and it look freaking awesome !!!! And the transition of colour within the freehand to portray the highlights, well that is exceptional... excellent work so far mate, can’t wait to see how this finishes up!!!

Hey ter idehate to break it to you but it’s perfectmatch. I think all that red because it’s not finished yet is throwing off your eyes a bit which def can happen at these advanced painting freehand thingies. Try to wait til it’s all done than take pictures in diff lights I’m certain it’ll be exact buddy. ;) think your good. Btw you’ve mastered squiggly lines my amazing freehanded friend.btw if at the end it’s not yellow enough still cause you have way more experience than most and you make the final call- but you can always throw a yellow glaze on it.

it looks slightly lighter to me, but I think it will work as that bit of cloak is likely to catch more light anyway. intact that might be just what its doing. either way its looking awesome, and I think once its all done it will all mesh. nice one.

Thanks all very much !! Well I found what was wrong, not enough dots. The yellow part is easy fix, just need to work more layers.

So that is what my palette looks like for the freehand, it's basically dark tracing then building layers over and over again with a off white then pure white, in between layers I glaze with yellow ink, some touch ups. Do this many times until i'am satisfied.
