I wrote this on P&Pand I’m writing it here too. EVERYBODYKNOWS MY THOUGHTS IN THIS. TERO an amazing artist and his contributions to others goes without say. He votes a lot on cmon and a lot on P&P . Now nothing bothers me more than those not commenting on his hard work especially after he’s took his time to appreciate and support others works. I’ll say this in laments terms- he votes honestly everybody should vote honestly as well.its NOT ABOUT A SILVER AND GOLD TO RETURN A SILVER AND GOLD. WHAT IT IS ABOUT IS HE SAW BEAUTY AND AWE IN THOSE WORKS HE VOTES ON. He took his time and as I said appreciated the mini and then voted on each and every one he felt was intriguing. When you don’t reciprocate and appreciate this mans work especially after he took time to appreciate the works of others - it’s down right DISRESPECTFUL. It’s like saying it’s not worth ones time. There are without a doubt many others who vote on his work and often they are too 20 members . Please if this is you show some respect and appreciation. Give his work a look through you WONT be disappointed.;)

I recently made a p+p account but I'm not allowed to vote yet (I think I need to uploads pictures first but I've been ill again and not feeling ready to fight with my camera and lightbox setup) you know I think it's awesome tero, that kind of flawless tiny freehand blows my mind (and those tiny 10mm wide books that were on Instagram are astounding), rest assured when my p+p account is allowed to vote I'll be checking up on all the people from here who've helped me get where I am now

It's ok it's ok, I can understand why my work can be ignored from the real artists, a painting is not just about absolute precision and perfect blending. I got to read and study my books seriously for my next project. There is obviously something wrong with my work, ppl are looking for moods and unity not for micro details.

I’m not on P&P mate, but if you get it up on CMON I’ll be right there at the head of the queue to vote.

Truly outstanding stuff mate. This would be incredible even without reading through and following the journey you’ve been on with it.

I think part of the problem is you have to look real close to see the detailed work in it, I've attached a pic of how it looks while scrolling through p+p and unless you click on it you wouldn't see all the awesome work done to it, it's not obvious at a glance at the thumbnail that the whole armour has intricate freehand, I'm not too sure what you could do to change it but i guess people scrolling down would just think it's painted silver, if you could set a more eye grabbing image as the first picture maybe more people would take a closer look? (Like for example the shoulder pad, !arine shoulder pads are pretty recognisable even close up and most people have at least seen one in person even if they never painted one)

Thanks guys

@Sick; I did change the pictures already once, maybe I will try your trick to have a focus on the shoulder pad's freehand as first picture, let see if that grab more attention.


Update: I stuck the picture with my thumb in it as first picture, sure the small details are are not in full view but my thumb is! It's easy for ppl to compare as they just need to put their thumbs over mine to see.

Yessir good point HOWEVER my argument still stands if he’s voted on yours and he has done a while and you’ve spoke to him and raves about his work on his forum THEN GO LOOK YOU KNOW HIS NAME. To all the high and mighties - your not curing cancer your painting models !!!

Well I haven’t been in this forum for long so I didn’t see the start of the paint for this guy, but when you put him on the table a little while back to finish off I was seriously blown away by the work put into this guy, absolutely next level painting!!! And the final result of the completed piece is sensational...

now as for the p&p im sorry I can’t help you out there and if I could I would, I haven’t completed a mini in about 15 yrs and when I finally stop dragging my arse and get some finished I dare say they won’t be worthy to put on there anyways... still a long way to go for me to get back to painting properly!!! Anyways I do however feel your frustration at the vote result, I popped over there and had a look... but I wouldn’t be too disillusioned by it my friend, I think you will find that it’s just a case of this type of painting being miles ahead of its time, you have entered a bold new frontier with this little guy and as I had mentioned way back in this thread that this style of painting is in an area where most would dare not tread due to the complexity!!!
This miniature is not just outside of the box of conventional miniature painting, it has torn the box to freakn pieces !!! And possibly it has not been too well received as people just can’t comprehend what they have just seen??? Just think, with nearly all the greatest painters in history their works were not fully understood until decades/centuries later as they were all well ahead of their time!!! Lucky for you there are some people who can see what you have achieved now :)
personally for me this is the most complex paint job I have seen and performed to an exceptional standard, and has become one of my favourite minis I’ve ever seen!!!

I do have to say however (being fully aware BAM and others are probably going to tear me to shreads)... I honestly feel the base is a little lacking and leaves me wanting more!!!! I fully understand the idea of simplicity as not to destract from the focal point, but I personally was expecting quite an extravagant base to emphasise the figure... I guess when looking at the final pictures I envision a stairwell with a line of custodian guard either side kneeling with heads bowed in honour or something like that???
Dont get me wrong, what you have done is very fitting and the paintwork is exceptional, far beyond what I could personally achieve... guess I just feel such a brilliant figure deserves an extrondinary base...that’s just my simple individual opinion anyways, so just take it with a grain of salt, as you are far superior to this miniature painting game than I am. Just thought I would share my thoughts, that’s all...

@CC; Thanks for your nice comment and you are absolutely right, I just lacked juice at the end and wanted to finish fast. I can only blame myself for that aspect. The reason why I was frustrated a bit is I am really loyal and leave true nice comments and vote to the ppl I follow on P&P and was expecting the same, but things are not always like you want or think it will be. If you want votes on P&P you have to follow a lot of ppl and have the max friends (it's not "sucking up") even the top 10 are friends and vote for each other to be editors pick!

Anyway, you guys can expect a "ding ding" LEVEL up in my coming projects!!

That is a fundamental mistake i did and I have a solution, this base is far from over. I will go with plan B and do what I wanted to do in the first place but abandon. I have a canva ready to be painted of the arch doorway, now is my chance to do a micro fresco. I tough that it would not have it's place because I didn't know what to do, something that would make sense. Who cares about the logic when the spectator is left hungry. When I recuperate a bit a sure will try to tackle the inside doorway canvas. I can also cover the champion and do some freehand on the floor as well.

Oh snap, I’m stoked your going to push the base and give it a scene it truly deserves :) but hey I really hope you don’t go mentally breaking yourself in the process !!!! I thought it to be a little cheeky throwing that comment in, cause I know how burnt out you would be after completing this guy and in all honesty I probably would of not felt like going over board with a base, had I completed such a monumental task myself... perhaps have a little fun with those stormcasts you were planning on doing first, and re-visit it when your fresh :) really looking forward to seeing what you come up with anyways !!!

Late to the party, but that pink marble is luscious. I don't know what to say anout the mini itself....soooo gorgeous. I keep looking at it and keep finding new cool details. Lovely work T.

regarding p&p i hope they do the promised update soon and scrap the scoring part, then even i might consider using it.
