Terraclips....?

BEWARE!!!! Apparently theres been a lot of negative feedback as there aren't any/enough of the clips in the actual terrain packs themselves and have to be bought separately. So unless they've changed due to the feedback its worth bearing in mind when it comes to pricing them up. However when it comes to games like malifaux they do seem a good way of quickly bashing terrain up. However this chaps take on using the world works terrain seems a better and in the long run probably cheaper option http://wyrd-games.net/forum/showthread.php?t=14084

not a fan of carboard terrain myself, but these ones look well done. good quality and having the different textures on the different sides is a great idea

I've bought the city highrise buildings as I use a lot of the "stonedgegames" Dungeons and Space cardboard walls, which are fantastic. I place the indivudual pieces on magnet sheets and then bought A4 sizes of stainless steal covered with the floor and got unlimited Dungeons/Spacehulks.

The only reason I haven't done the terratiles yet as they eat a lot of ink, which for my printer is not cheap......but I think the idea is amazing.

I have some World Works Terrain , quality is good and the ability to produce to suite a specific scenario is handy.
Downside....Ink & time consuming.
As for the Malifaux buildings, yes the clips are separate (AFAIA) but If you're wanting stable buildings with Miniature capable support, for multiple game options then these are about 500 times better than the carboard D&D buildings of the 80/90's. (Yes I still have them)

Yes, the clips are separate. They've always been advertised that way. Apparently it's because the number of clips needed really depends on what & how you build.

I know it will sound harsher than I intend it, but... Anyone disappointed by the clips being separate should have done a bit more product research before making the purchase. /shrug

Actually all the sets were initially advertised as coming with one free combo connector pack, though these weren't included when people received them.

Found this

Apparently they pulled the offer after pre sales had been taken and there packaging continued to carry the offer. Though apparently the new packaging states that you need to buy the clips separately. Not the greatest of starts but people seem to like the product, you just have to remember the extra cost of clips associated with each box set.

Also I've just started collecting malifaux so will probably be getting some myself at some point.

I apologize then. I apparently learned about these after it was pulled. Those folks are rightly upset then. : /

I would think you should be able to build many things available in the box, with clips that were included. It surprises me that they'd sell them separately. That'd be as annoying as selling a slotta mini with no base.

Ah but no clips where included, nor are there any included now. You do indeed have to still buy them separately. It is as you put it a mini where the slotta base is sold separately.

I guess I'd rather see the clips included, and the initial price rise.

I've never been a big fan of what I call 'nickel and dime' merchandising.

So they're called Terraclips but the boxes contain no actual terraclips? You get more Ham in a Hamburger...

Playing Devils Advocate here; isn't there no real difference than buying a model without paint, glue or basing materials?
It's how GW and the other game manufacturers have us in their clutches.

Basic question is this:- Will the separate clips STOP you from buying the scenery? (For me, no)
Don't forget you should be able to make one box of clips be enough for all three boxes of scenery.
After all are you going to have the Sewers, Streets and Buildings set up for every gaming session?

The item may have been advertiesed long before actual release with clips enclosed. But any time in the month or so before actual release i didnt notice any mention of the clips being included. All the articles on the WWG site id seen stated they were seperate. As to the items themselves they look nice, but ive too much invested in the TLX series of paper terrain they do. It you dont want to bother with printing/cutting/gluing its not a bad choice.

Any way take care.

No doubt retailers will soon be selling them as bundles to overcome the inconvenience of figuring how many clips to a pack.
