Terraclips....?

Playing Devils Advocate here; isn't there no real difference than buying a model without paint, glue or basing materials?
It's how GW and the other game manufacturers have us in their clutches.

Basic question is this:- Will the separate clips STOP you from buying the scenery? (For me, no)
Don't forget you should be able to make one box of clips be enough for all three boxes of scenery.
After all are you going to have the Sewers, Streets and Buildings set up for every gaming session?

Fair points.

I was getting the impression that there were NO clips in the box at all. If there is enough to make a few buildings, then I understand a bit better.

So which is it? NO clips, or enough to build a few things.

There are no clips in the box at all. I got mine today and Ive been playing around with them, they are pretty good and useful for someone like me who lives in a flat and needs to flat pack scenery away, plus the custom aspect is pretty cool, I set up a small board with a sewer level, then streets and houses on top, and all connected. I have to say being able to move house to house through sewers and various levels added quite a bit to the game, and added quite a big defensive challenge. Ive got to say though, the clips are not quite right, they stand out against the rest of the scenery. Im also not sure how the smaller bits like ladders will hold up, but Im going to try jigsaw sealer which should help them last a bit longer.

Well I got to look at a Sewer box built up and on display yesterday.
Immediate reaction...Not a bad looking product.

After 10 minutes interruptions and having the chance to look a little closer.
Detail on the cardstock; pretty damn good, although not quite as 'bright' as they appear in the videos.
Structural strength when assembled a lot better than I'd expected and I'd expected it to be strong.
(I was able to pick up the whole raised/building area without it falling apart and it was able to hold a metal Kador warjack on a raised area with out collapsing.)

The clips issue...Well that's something different. The setup I saw had apparently used all the clips in a box and that was a separate box to the cardstock.
Personally I'd have used only One clip per ground tile and multiples to set up the walls and raised floors, BUT the setup I was looking at was only a first attempt and experience and practical usage will probably help to reduce the amount of clips needed.

Overall if I were to give this a rating for myself on a first impression 8+/10.

For a gaming group doing a Malifaux setting It's exactly right.
For a DM running a figure based game, it'll be either a godsend, a damn good resource or a pain in the ass dependant on the players.
For collectors or display effects, well I leave that to the individual.

Personally having some of World Works Game sets already and seeing the quality of those units, this will match in excellently with stuff I'm working on as a gaming scenario.

I'm torn between buy some of these or not.

it removes a lot of the hassle that comes with printing, cutting and glueing the current TerraClix range, but when you have the pdf's you can just print off an additional one wall or extra floor piece.

Hopefully they'll bring out just extra floors or walls, etc.... that can be bought seperatly.

Do you think the £35 price tag plus £12 for the clips - £47 total is worth it??????

@dragonsreach what sort of playing area does the sewer pack cover as it was the one i was tempted with? How many do you think would be needed for a 4' x 4' table?

The set up I saw was about 2.5' x 1.5', not sure if it was all the tiles/walls.

Three possibly four packs, dependant on what you want.
But if you plan things properly for example a city street area you don't need to cover every square inch of table with street tiles.
Leave the interior of the houses without floor and as long as they aren't in use, should be fine.

I understand that, at the moment I'm kinda torn as well. I like them but have no immediate use and cannot integrate them into what gaming I'm doing at the moment.

I agree with that , but I'm still not kicking the Terraclix stuff into touch, in fact I see them as interchangeable due to the sizes being the same, So it's highly likely that the Sewers and Oubliette I have will someday appear alongside the Malifaux stuff.
In fact I'm tempted to print some of the Terraclix floor tiles to place on Plasticard, insead of foamboard.

Hopefully they'll bring out just extra floors or walls, etc.... that can be bought seperatly.
A damn good idea.

A good question, and I'll have to answer as honestly as I can........I'm not sure.
It seems a might expensive for me at the moment because I have no immediate use for them.
However, for a GM/DM trying to put some spark into a game /campaign they could be "as Cheap as Chips" and real value for money.
In the future I expect I'll probably pick up a set to use in something that's being worked on, but at the moment I'll 'Hang Fire'.
