Yeah not sure if I like the claws this color. Maybe deep red/orange wash? (brown+orange)

Thank Ter , yeah I might give that a go , I wasn't sure which way to go with the claws and didn't know if a hotter colour would deter from the grey

Gotta say finished him in time to take to Newcastle GW birthday bash , first place single miniature WOOOHOOO! First place diorama with my shooting at ghosts dio and first place large mini with my nurgle marine on Juggernaught ... Super stoked

Thank you very much guys and gals , I stepped out of my comfort zone on that one , travelled down entered by myself in a group I didn't know ,the reaction I got to my painting was really good so gave me a really big boost ..
trying to push my painting even more now.

That is really important, before the support of you guys here I was nothing (empty shell).

Love the pups. Stick with the cool osl as that works well with the fluff. Get some white in those recesses and the work you blue outwards from that almost like reverse highlighting. This was done without an airbrush so don't let all those fancy Youtube videos of OSL with an airbrush stop you from using this great effect!

Basecoat the wire on the sword and plasma coils with a few thin coats of Caledor Sky. Layer on a thin coat of Teclis Blue leaving some of the previous color showing. Now layer on some Baharroth Blue in an even smaller area. Repeat in an even smaller area with White Scar. Now glaze the entire area with a thinned layer of Guilliman Blue. Once that is dry do a second heavier glaze of Guilliman Blue in the recesses. When that is dry, drybrush some Teclis Blue around the area you want the glow to be. Take it slow and build it up. Finally, drybrush some White Scar in a smaller are leaving some of the blue from the previous drybrushing showing. Now you have a nice OSL without even needing an airbrush to do it :)

Sub out any colors your prefer over the ones i used, just maintain the same tones and it should work out real nice...

Ter your not an empty shell never have been , you just need to let out the inner geek like all of us ....cheers buddy.
Thanks a bunch Zab but do I make the lightning claws whiter near the fingers out to blue on the blades or just have the glow around his fist ..

I will add some more white and blend out .Meanwhile here is the start for a local comp which has to be based on "ambush"
