This is something I started today , I've wanted to do a Tyranid dio Alien( the movie style ) I have made it so it opens so 1 it's easy to make and paint and 2 it gives a good feel of being outnumbered by these skittering gene stealers .

I have started with green stuff

Do you have any plans light it internally? Maybe a strip of LEDs under a gang plank or something similar? I feel the tubular setup will be a bit too dark to see as a dio....but I can't wait to see where this goes....I may have to do this with my Impact miniatures chibis...would you mind?

Edited to add: Have you thought about adding hinges to view inside? Hobby Lobby or other hobby stores should have small 'jewelry box size'ones that would work...

Thanks guys , it will be hinged , at the moment I have it hinged with a bit of gaffa tape so I can remove it while I work on it an put it back to align models and scenery . Underneath the gantry walkway I have used a putty and half buried items like armour,guns ,knives and helmets once this is painted I will block all three ends and use resin to create water effect up to the bottom of the walkway .
I am not sure if I will light this internally , it would be cool to have one on the walkway but modelled as a flare that was thrown there by the marines that will be put in harms way.
Cannon fodder , go for your life I would love to see some Chibi figures like this ,very cool.

Can you find next time some clear plastic tubes, it will be awesome. I was going to suggest lighting but CannonF already did.

Fantastic idea, but I can but help to wonder how you'll get good photos of that.

Ok ..I've got some little led lights which I am hoping to put in the roof with little grills over them like sewer lights or on the sides of the tunnel .This should improve the visual and photographic scenes .
I am playing with figures at the moment and I keep going back to the Ultra marine Tyranid veterans . Any suggestions ..?

Done some more green stuff sculpting , running out of green stuff really quick

Just moulded some light grill covers , it's stainless steel mesh I found at a smash repair shop they use to make bog stronger . Behind these I will use red LED lights just to give it an eiry light

This is my entry to the gods and monsters competition , I've just green stuffed all the joints and cleaned it up.
my idea is to have it on an old marine post out in the water .
