what the hell is this all about? lol

I like Rackam miniatures and I\'m 23 years old and live in Belgium... but what does this prove?

To expose my own bias would affect the results so I\'ll keep mum on it . . .

This is by no means scientific and in the end it will only prove that certain respondents said certain things. It was prompted by a few conversations I\'ve had with some very opiniated gamers and I throw it out to see what holds water. And I mix my metaphors.

I observed and now I test. Do my observations hold up in polling? Who is the market for Rackham?

One problem with my poll is (apart from the space between the answers) is that people NOT in North America may have closer exposure to Rackham marketing -like the Franco-Belgians and this might skew the results but that\'s why I left it general - maybe Asia and Australia will balance that out.

Erm...I took the vote B4 I read the forum post!

My vote was Under 30yrs and outside N America, but I didn\'t realise that the question was about Rackham...or else I\'d not have voted - I don\'t play Confrontation or paint Rackham minis...and anyway they\'re legal freaks and trying to sue i-kore for what was originally a shared idea in Celtos! They\'re raving mad!

When you write up your paper you should take the Internet into account as a possible reason for skewing the results: I am under 30 (26) in the USA and the only reason I have any clue about Confrontation is through online distributors.

Butbest fantasy models in the business? Hands down!

All I can say is that the Belgians here are not \"Franco-Belgians\", we live in the Dutch speaking part of our country, also called Flanders.

But we all recieve lots of lessons in French in school, so it might be true that we have some advantages...

Yes, I think a lot of people are mislead by this poll... the title would better have been \"I\' like Rackham and I\'m...\" or something like that.

What can I say ?
Rackham minis are up there with the best sculpts out there!
I\'m under thirty years of age and have a good healthy addiction to Rackham minis.

The only problem is, since I got into Rackham I\'ve found I\'m obsessed with France and consequently have a thirst for French films and music. I even drive around in a French car. Crazy!!!

If only I could find myself a French girlfriend I\'d be complete:)

I\'m a big Sci-Fi fan, so Rackham isn\'t even a consideration I\'m afraid.

Also, I\'m English, they\'re French, and we have a history that extends beyond Jerry Lewis. lol

Anyway, do you mean Fantasy figures, models or minis? Models wise the Japanese do it for me big time! Chodo ii desu ne!:D

Probably in keeping w/ your hypotheseis...

I\'m over 30 and live in North America and DO NOT believe that Rackham COnfrontation is the coolest line of fantasy figures.

Well, I\'m French, under 30, I think Rakham makes nice minis (among the best), but, like Rev, I hate their policy. Some people I know used to work for\'em. The only thing resulting is \"better working for GW\".

Excuse me? Could you please elaborate?

(Sorry to be off-topic, but it\'s interesting. And I\'ve already voted...).

Okay, this is my understanding of everything and it\'s all ALLEGED you hear me, ALLEGED (pheeeeew).

The two people working initially on this great idea to do something Celtic (not under either brand at that moment in time, as far as i\'m aware) decided to go their own ways after lots of work together. Whether it was friendly or not I don\'t know (and as it\'s ALLEGED I don\'t care :D) but they each went to do their own things. Then both games came out and I\'m presuming that it was Confrontation first. But the guy who was doing Celtos was more or less the originator of the artwork and concepts (or so is my vague understanding)...anyhows, he released his stuff through/with/as part of i-kore (exact relationship is not known to me). Then, to cut a long story short(ish) the guy who was doing Confrontation decided to sue the guy doing Celtos for something along the lines of Copyrights and misleading the public/stealing customers. They asked for at least tens of thousands if not hundreds of thousands for lost sales on one particular line. So that\'s what\'s happening, only the amount they would have lost (if at all) may have been 5000 quid or a little more. However, Confrontation are pursuing it through a French court that has far more antiquated copyright laws than say Britain, where the case could have been held. However, knowing that the more enlightened British courts and justice system would just laugh at them, they\'ve proceeded through the French system.

Now, this may all be wildly inaccurate or whatever, so I\'m repeating again that it\'s what I\'ve been told by someone in the industry. I REPEAT, THIS IS ALLEGED AND NOT NECESSARILY TRUE!

Also, just to clear other things up, I\'m a bit of a fan of the French other than Rackham. I love their rugby, language, wines, football, food, loads of stuff.

I also like the Scottish...though their football and rugby and food is crap! Ho ho! But I love their whisky :wow:

The reason I say this is i-kore is Scottish. Am I right?

I\'d also ask that anyone with more knowledge and sense fill me in and all the other readers too...if your version is more accurate than mine that is...lol

Yours, without prejudice
