Texturing...

I was just looking at Alexi Z\'s new model for the newbold auction and it is predictably beautiful.

Does anyone know how she manages to achieve the texturing effect she does on so many of her models cloth parts? I am always blown away by it as it looks so beautiful and soft but doesn\'t just look like a typical stipple.

Anyone know? Anyone care to take a guess?

i would say she is using a crosshatching technique to buildup the highlights

it\'s basicly highlighting up with a pattern and then glazing back to smooth things out and help the shading.

jakob nielson has been doing that sort of stuff with swirly patterns for years.

I did this one with a stiff haired brush and just stippled many different tones and hues on. Kept things thin so the texture didnt get too harsh.
