Ok I don\'t know if this ever happened to one of you guys but today the light bulb that I use for painting simply exploded!!!

At the moment I was 3 meters away so no harm done. Imagine if I was painting at the time!!

For the record the light bulb was a sun light made by Osram (which is the brand that 99% of people use in Greece) so I don\'t think that I could blame Osram for this....

I think you should rather check your Lamp... My Problem from once to a while is that when I turn my Light on it simply EXPLODES out of my Lamp, because I have a cheap one... that´s quite dangerous, biut you know, there is worse...

Contacting Osram will be senseless, they will blame you or the lamp...

Check the wattage of bulb and lamp compatibility.
I had a halogen type bulb explode when I was getting ready to photograph. The piece of glass that came off buried 2\" into the wall luckily not my eye or flesh.
Daylight bulb the same both because bulb was too igh a wattage for the lamps.

I had one of those twisty flourescent bulbs (the ones to replace normal bulbs) blow up after only about 1 hour of useage. I wasn\'t harmed but when cleaning up I missed a piece and caught my 3yr old girl chewing on it the next day. After my near heart-attack, and of course taking it away, a thorough checking over of her indicated no cuts thankfully.

maybe I should buy a new desktop light source..... I can\'t figure out what is wrong but the prospect of an eye injury is too scary...
Thx for the feedback guys, I appreciate it..

If you still have the (remnants) of the bulb - and the packaging/receipt (unlikely)

Why not take try trading standards?
You never know :p

that would only work if there is absolutely no indication either on the Lamp or packaging as to maximum wattage to use etc.

Granddad!
I\'d have thought Osram would be particularly interested as to why one of their lightbulbs exploded
If you still have the remnants of the bulb and the specs for the lamp, for the cost of posting it off to them, you may be pleasantly surprised
Of course you\'d need to find out where to send it
