I saw the cork base on your latest. Fun, aren\'t they. We started using cork a couple months ago and it gave us even more ideas for basing. Now we\'ll roll out some sculpy flat, bake it and break it into pieces. The white sculpy is so soft, it\'s easy to carve into, so you can carve tile floors or brick or stone, and mount your mini on that.
Do you use ink washes to get some of your shadings?
Also, I really like your Clark tartan. Plaid is my favorite color. :flip:

It\'s the best feeling dropping a digit from your ranking isn\'t it!! only 2 more for you to get rid of now ;)

I went through and made sure I had voted on all your minis and dropped a comment, nice work, there is definately huge improvement you can see in just your last 10 posts, great work.

Yeah I was really happy with the results of the cork, not to pleased about cutting up my sanding block, but the sacrifice was worth it :D
no I dont use ink washes, I start from the darkest color for my base and work up to the lightest, I\'ll apply a glaze now & then between stages (thanks Tammy -credit where it\'s due) as & when I feel it needs it, nothing set in stone tho\'
the Tartan was fun... too :rolleyes: :innocent: lol

@Eric: Ye....e.....ss, :D I\'m working on the other 2 too, & thanks for the comment :D

...the blue tint in the metallics on Imrahil comes from the base color, an old pot of Citadel metallic blue (name escapes me at the mo)

Slightly off subject here...

Forgive my Newbness, but how does the ranking work? I\'ve only posted one mini so far, do you have to have a certain number? Where would I go to see my rank (if I have one)? I see how to link it to a web page, and I guess it could be linked to my sig like everyone does, but it there another way to see it? And while I\'m mentioning sigs, does BB code work in sigs and/or gallery posts? I know how to tag in HTML, but BB is new to me. It looks very similar, but you can\'t embeb a tag within a tag, can you? I tried to change size and color but it would only do one or the other. Don\'t mean to pull this thread off track or anything, but the whole ranking thing got me thinking about all the things I still don\'t know about CMON. Now I\'m going to go look at your minis Mickc22, and will vote my buns off (Wishful thinking there).:D:D:D

Yay !!! :D

@markustay: Your rank is based on the average of your 5 highest scoring mini with over 50 votes. S0 untill you have 5 mini up, with 50 votes each ( or more) you have no ranking.

Mick, it has been a pleasure voting on your minis. Unfortunately I have very little to offer in the way of critique - you just paint so much better than I do.
