Thats a lot of shoes...

No telling, there wasn\'t any mention of the quality of the items, so it\'s entirely possible that they may not be worth distributing anyway. But, then again, if they are decent quality, I\'m sure there are a lot of charitable organizations that could have made good use of them. The logos would have to be defaced somehow, though. I\'m sure Nike, Adidas, and Puma would not want their logo on products that aren\'t theirs.

Knowing Nike et al they would leave the logos knowing they get free advertising everytime some poor third world countries plight is shown on TV.

Actually, the third world country guys are probably the ones who made the shoes. \" Damn, these shoes are cursed, they are following me!\"

Nope in many cases the countefits are just as good as the origionals.
Useually what happens is when a factory in China tools up to make a product, they make a \"Extra set\" of tooling and send it to a different factory..say \"Uncle joes\" down the road and they make the counterfits. In most cases the counterfits look identical and what makes them counterfit is the fact that the company of origin makes no money off them. There might be a slight change or if its a really expensive item cheaper materials, but in this case they are probably just as good.

Screw Nike and screw every \"brand\" out there. These shoes were probably made in the same factory as the real Nikes, the only difference is the swoosh is paid for on some. Selling branded items for big bucks, items poorly-made for pennies in the developing world, is consumerism stripped bare to its most base, pathetic, and exploitative. I could tattoo a swoosh or Roots logo on my sack and some morons would be willing to rub it on their forehead because \"wearing Nike makes me cool\". It\'d be teabagging as lifestyle marketing, I\'d make millions.
