The Best minis you haven\'t bought?

The lines I drool over most are probably Enigma and Helldorado.

I also love the larger scale stuff from Andrea. I really hope to try some of those at some point.

I\'m still thoroughly smitten with the POUNDS of unpainted metal from Rackham and Privateer Press. I\'m having so much fun with Warmachine/Hordes that I doubt I\'ll paint deeply into another line for quite some time.

Have to agree with Scottradom, I fell in love with my Gamezone mini\'s as soon as I opened the blisters........ and then not so much when i did a dry-fitting.
Massive gaps all over the place!!!

Can\'t argue with the level of detail though.... so its give with one had and take with the other. Maybe they should be renamed to something like.... The UK Government

It really is dissapointing, isn\'t it? I could EASILY have seen myself dropping a fortune on nearly ALL the mini\'s from them, but I have to think my patience for assembling and fixing the casts will run out and I\'ll have just another box of mini\'s to get pawned off (YAY MINI EXCHANGE!).

On the other hand the Hell Dorado stuff I got, the demons with the mouths in thier guts thingies are superb. Very little messin\' about with them. Likewise with Tale of War SPartans I picked up. I have a Massive Darkness fig I haven\'t cracked yet, but looks better in the blister then it did on the net.

I just have to ask, maybe some people here know, why are gamezone mini\'s so awful? What part of the process goes wrong? Clearly they\'re works of inspired sculpting but at what point does the process break down?

Even past that, the design flaws of the Goblin ball and chain fanatics are inexcusable. It\'s just not feasible that the tiniest of the pewter links on the chain are capable of supporting the weight of the rest of the model. When I saw the pic online I kind of made assumptions (stupid, I know) that they would have some sort of unseen support system.

Thing is they\'re remarkable still. It\'s frustrating, but they\'re still really inspiring figs. I just wish it wouldn\'t be so much WORK to get them from blister to primer.

Another addition to the collection i presume... :D

I was amazingly lucky enough to get first refusal... Money is really tight at the moment but there was no way I was saying no to THAT mini!

Infinity anyone ?, I picked up the only 3 infinity blisters at a local show in November and I have to say just plain super, I\'m itching to just get more especially this months releases.

Gamezone are another for me, some technically great fantasy pieces that are not the same old stiff sculpts.

@ james: infinity is definitely on the top of my favorites list, but i can\'t say i haven\'t bought any...
i\'ve bought loads of \'em...
the detail is incredible, but some off \'em can be a bit small and fiddly(i\'m lookin\' at you doktari chick)...
overal, i\'ve been impressed with the quality of the moulds, and the choices made when the models were cut for mouldmakin\'...

@scott:...on the other hand we have gamezone...castin\' quality is not so good...
the problem with the gaps probably starts when the cut the mini to make the mould...i\'ve had to paint a lot of minis in my day, where poor choices were made when the mini was cut down into it\'s components before castin\'...

i\'m not as big on fantasy as i am on sci-fi. but right now helldorado is the company that inspires me the most...
the settin\' is cool...
the sculpts are incredible, and the castin\' quality is top notch...best in the business right now...

cheers

hmmmm .. tricky one .. generally I just click buy when I see something I like enough to rab some and try them...

so if they make me drool I generally buy them .. If they don\'t make me drool enough to buy them then they don\'t belong in the list......???

If anything currently I\'ve een looking at Pegaso\'s 54mm Gladiators and a few other of their larger scale historicals ..don\'t own any of them yet..

To add to the gamezone discussion at risk of thread hijack.. I too have had my share of dissappointment with them.. really poo fits on the few that have passed through my hands..

I agree on the Ilyad. Managed to get a few of the other sculpts that I wanted, like Desdemone.

But the HUGE Barbarian I\'ve been wanting for awhile now...

I would very much like to own:

That stonking dragon of Shawn\'s, plus one of his flamethrower jets to go in its mouth.

Some Ultraforge pieces. Especially the dragon and the treelady.

Maybe some Gamezone stuff. Sure is pretty, but these tales of woe are putting me off. Since I have copious numbers of Bretonnians, I probably don\'t need more knights...... do I?

Some Andrea stuff. I\'ve spent several informative and drool-inducing hours cruising their site. If I had a house to mortgage to buy some of their more elaborate pieces (\'m looking at you, Ben Hur!), then I would!
