well get bloody casting then!!

Two things:

1. How do you make a cast of a resin mini without destroying it?

2. Would it not be illegal to cast these minis?

I would cast them for people who may want one but I do not want to ruin what I have or go to jail for being generous.

Suck it up princess! If people want cast\'s of those figs then what\'s a 6 month stint in the can, in the scheme of things? Think of the STORIES you\'ll have!

If he *only* ends up with stories, he\'ll be lucky......

Easy, send them all to me, then I\'ll make some silicone molds, following the original mold lines. I then return them back to you, no problem

2. Would it not be illegal to cast these minis?
Shouldn\'t be, Ilyad is no more

I would cast them for people who may want one but I do not want to ruin what I have or go to jail for being generous.

Assuming of course you are yet to assemble and paint them

It\'s cool, just ask Scott :D

their will still be an owner of the copywright and in this economic climate i think they would take you to court and turn your arse into a japanese flag.

Yeah we all understand Mick...
Althoug there is a certain school of thought that says the minis are out of production the business is no more how carefully will they have protected these things.. it does cost to garner copywright production and surprisingly few mini companies do actually do it...

give me a shout when you get the first batch done .)

Well guess we\'ll never know
(you\'ll have to tell Aliengod3 to send them to me first ;) )

I\'m in a similar situation with some Pearce Miniatures, (54mm Australian toy soldier style historicals), they depict all sorts of eras from Australian history, both military and civilian and also railway stuff too. I was looking at distributing them in the UK
Sadly the designer/sculpter/owner passed away (cancer, I think it was less than 2 months from finding out to him dying), what made it worse, was, he was the son of my Dads friend from when we lived there

If I\'d had the money I\'d have bought the molds from his dad, but sadly I didn\'t.
They seemed popular in OZ and USA, I think Michael Roberts stocked them at one time.

They sculpting isn\'t bad, more childlike, and some of the anatomy is a bit off. I\'d really like to re-work and refine them at some point.

boy that kind of took off a bit there...

Maybe some Gamezone stuff. Sure is pretty, but these tales of woe are putting me off.
I wouldn\'t worry too much. The gaps I\'ve seen are no more difficult to fill repair than with any other model. GW\'s just as bad with some of their casts. The Dark Elf Sourceress on Cold One is a PIG thanks to the person who cut it to make the moulds.

Well thankfully, we all have different tastes.
Personally I thought those were dreadful. Completely FUGLY and with no redeeming features.

DragonsReach- The GameZone mini\'s are horribly mangled. I\'ve assembled abotu half a dozen (INcluding the cool \"Gloria Invicta\") and the gaps are way, way worse then even some of the inexplicable dark elf\'s from GW. I\'m talking like, 2mm gaps between horse shoulder and neck kind of bad.

I\'m not saying don\'t buy them, just be prepared to spend a lot of time getting these guys ready for primer.

This thread has inspired me to pick up some of the Micro Art Discworld stuff.

I actually bought some hell dorado minis because of this thread and I have to say that they are excellent! The casts are almost perfect and very smooth. They require almost no prep work. I cannot wait to paint one!

Also I wish I was able to get the JMD daemonette before they had to resculpt it because of GW issues... :~(

Micro Art and Hasslefree for the most part are the ones I want that I probably won\'t get anytime soon.

Hell Dorado are a dream aren\'t they? I got the demons of whateverness, the ones with mouths in their chests looking kinda nurgley. I was worried but MAN are they great!

A dream they are. I bought sarrasin alchemist, which I am going to start painting soon, She Ren Zhe (mercenary genie), and the Russian Trappers.

Those demons are reall awesome minis. I do not know if you have seen the movie dreamcatcher but those minis remind me of the aliens in that movie.

I actually cannot wait for the immortals to be released. The starter box for that faction has some insanely well sculpted minis that I am dying to get my brush on.
