I love the way the pictures heightened the tension....it was like a movie preview!

Excellent job all around. That's a lot of beef!

Well done Tomapaul :good: He feels like a massive step forward in both your sculpting & painting, colour me impressed! Cheers, B.

Really nice - his face is a little scary though ;) I also would have liked to see a few drops of blood on the base - judging by his weapons, I don't think it would have escaped a few splats here an there :D

Hoi, Thought I'd chime in with some comments.
I like the way everyone gives praise and it is a brilliant sculpt and paint job, but...
The muscularity on his back is weird, maybe look up some anatomical drawings for how it should look, it actually looks like drooping fat, rather than toned muscle.
His head/neckline is also off, the neck bulges up too much, and just doesn't sit right.
I mean for these comments to be taken as respectful advice, not as a criticism, the overall effect is excellent, and these points are tweaks, at best.
Thanks!

@tooshy True...true...I'll fix it this weekend.

@yxalitis This is only my 4th sculpt. Have some mercy man... :beat-up:
Actually I didn't aimed for an extremely very toned body. I took inspiration from these pictures(especially the bull...and his neck is pretty huge). But yes...I still have a lot to learn.

I totally can see how you achieved the effect you desired from these two pictures. Really well done. Love it! Want it!

Re. Yxalitis: it's good crit :D One of those things where once you know, you spot it every time. I'm very vague on muscle groups & bone and the like but once you're familiar with them, weirdness will stand out and jar. How muscles and skeletons work as well as how they look seems to be a fundamental part of learning how to sculpt in our genres. Finding that balance between fantasy and reality for a convincing creature is paramount.

Given the scale you're sculpting at, I see the progress being fairly slow. Have you had a shot at producing a figure 2" tall? Just spend a week, direct copy of this Bull perhaps? With tweaks for improvement of course ;) Do you knock out roughs at small scale before sculpting or do you sketch? Or just dive straight in? It would be nice to see you churn through some minor practice pieces as a build up to your next big project in order to build your skills and insight faster.

Just some thoughts anyway, I thought the crit was good but don't want you to feel too bruised by it!

And I do think your painting has stepped up a fat notch too :good:

Cheers, B.
