The CAN-adian!

Painted this up for a contest on WAMP. It's a Pulp City mini mounted on a super fun to paint base from Dragon Forge. This is my first try doing any kind of freehand, and it was nerve racking!

Also....

I bought a new camera. A Canon Rebel something or other and it's an SLR. For the first time ever the colour in the pic matches the colour in the hand. I hope the focus wierdness will go away once my marco lens arrives at the end of the week-ish. Currently this pick was taken with an f14-16, ISO 100, and it was set to "Standard" mode which adjusted some light thing by 3. I couldn't tell you what most of that means, apart from the f stop and the iso thingy. So much to learn! Anyway... here's the mini...

Magnificent! He kind of reminds me of a Canadian luchador... if we had such things. But I could see him guest starring in a Santo film, helping fight mummies and vampire women.

Or going toe-to-toe with Canuck heroes like Guardian, Northstar and Sasquatch...

Oh man, bad news NSA! They killed all of Alpha Flight! Some stupid X-Men crossover thingy where they got trashed in like a single panel and killed by some super mutant. He was really sorry about the whole thing though.

We do need some Canadian Luchadors! The Lady Byng ain't for everyone.

All that is needed now is the Canadian national anthem...
Wonderful mini, clean paint job... my only suggestion would be to change the background to a blue gradient with the dark area on top.

The backgrounds I use are defo gonna get played with. I just need a new printer and I can start trying some different things.

Vike- The pavement was basecoated in VMC Slate grey, washed with very thin VMC USA Olice Drab, Orange Brown, and some Cam Black Brown. Dirt and Dust pigments were used as well. The iron grate stuff was Dark Flesh, washed several times with P3 Coal Black, then had some P3 Bloodstone splashed around here and there in thin glazes/washes.
