Well To help drive my hobby skills further this year I am taking challenges from all my work mates to see who can paint the best one. Entering the open competition in GD UK 2010

The challenge this time is a WH40K Ork model. And I am looking for Ideas, he has decided on Snikrot so I am unsure, Ive painted badruk already.

Anyone got any Ideas help, would be appreciated?

Thanks

Hi Lettuce, I'm not familiar enough with the named characters to specify but I really like the plastic box of space orcs with jet packs. Loads of character & room for storytelling, plus many parts to cobble together a really special character. So they're my vote :) Cheers, B.

What I have come up with is using the plastic killa kans that are coming out on the 6th March to convert up a massive Gazgkhull, until then I will think about designing the Base for him to stand on and as its pay day tomorrow I will order the metal version so I can use some of the parts to make the conversion.

Right now when it comes to GD project, im pulling blanks, I had some Ideas but they were not very politically correct, so I am still musing on weither it will be a diorama, single figure or duel.

How about the big tin can dude with a Red Arrows style fly over of rocket pack chaps, with coloured smoke trails :D Perhaps one of them corkscrewing off out of control?

Don't mind me, just thinking out loud , as it were :) B.

Nice one!

But seriously, with the General sized characters, it's nice to have a couple of extra faces on the model I reckon. A jet-pack goblin, for example, but not coming forward over the shoulder. The boss' face should be the focus there. Save the goblin face for one of the more "boring" side views of the tin can.

You've got plenty of time, sounds like a fun project to work on :good:

Are you a Platoon Britannica member? (I read their forum from time to time but not enough to recognise many names)

Cheers, B.

PS If you do the jet-pack gobbo ;) be sure to have a bug splatted onto a goggle lens, or gritted teeth :D

I am registered on their forum but not been on there long. But as GW staff can only enter the open competition and this is the first year I will enter. I decided to bite the bullet and take my skills to a higher level by competeing.
