I bring my suit to Kean\'s to get cleaned for my brother\'s wedding.
I go back the next day to pick up my suit. The girl behind the counter hangs my clothes up on the rack in front of the counter, and I start checking them out as she\'s totaling the bill.
Maroon shirt, check.
Silver shirt, check.
Suit Pants, black, check.
Suit Jacket, black, no. WTF.
I turn to the girl, \"Where\'s my jacket?\"
\"It\'s there.\" she replied still concentrating furiously on the cash register.
\"No. No, it\'s not. My jacket is not here.\"
She looks up and goes through the clothing.
\"It\'s not here.\" she says.
\"I know.\" I replied, \"If you noticed, I even remarked on this fact not even five seconds ago.\"
\"Are you sure you brought it in?\" She asked.
\"Hmmm, let me think, the receipt I have says I brought it two pieces of laundry, and two pieces of dry cleaning. Now we know that two plus two equals four, and I only have one, two, three pieces of clothing here, so obviously I brought it in.\"
\"Ok, let me check in the back.\"
As you can probably tell, I was getting pretty aggravated by this time.
She comes back and say that it\'s not in the back that it is probably still in the delivery truck that will be back on Monday.
Ok, I leave, I have to go to Russ\'s anyway and Kenny is meeting me at my house. In the five minute drive from Kean\'s to my house, stewing over what happened, I get pissed, nay, I get furious.
I meet up with Kenny, and we go to Russ\'s, they get to listen to me rant.
I calm down and go back to the store on Monday.
\"Is my jacket in?\" I ask.
They check, \"No, it isn\'t Mr. Dixon.\"
\"What the hell? Didn\'t the pants and the jacket go together to the same place to get cleaned?\"
\"Yes.\"
\"If they went together then why the hell didn\'t they come back together?\"
\"Well, we might have accidentally put the jcket in with someone else\'s clothes. They may return it.\"
\"Yeah, right.\"
\"if it\'s not back tommorow, you can fill out a lost item sheet and if we can\'t find it in ten days, we will reimburse you.\"
\"Ten days?!?!? I need it in four.\"
\"Well, Mr. Dixon, that\'s company policy.\"
So I fill out the form and leave.
I go back the nex four days, they haven\'t found it.
I go on my trip.
I come back and wait a week, then I go to Kean\'s.
\"Do you have My jacket?\"
They look. \"No, Mr. Dixon.\"
\"It\'s been past the ten days, I want my refund.\"
They call the manager and tell me the check will be mailed to me in two days time.
Two days later I get a letter from Kean\'s\"
I open it up and lo and behold there is a check...for $125.
125 fucking dollars.
I paid $600 for the suit. (I know, I know I said $800 in an earlier post, I was angry and for some reason $800 stuck in my mind)
I bring in a low milage Ferrari, and they want to pay for a beat up Pinto.
At this point I lose all my cool.
I am officially: FRIGGING PISSED OFF, COMPLETLY FRIGGING FURIOUS.
I\'m at the point, where any smart ass comment might make me snap and kill someone on the spot.
I walk into the house and Steph spots it immediatly.
\"How much did they send?\" she asked.
\"$125\"
\"That\'s bullshit. I\'m off of work this week, I\'ll handle it.\"
\"Thank You\"
I sat on the couch and read the letter that came with the check.
I don\'t remember what it fully said but I\'ll give you the gist.
Dear Mr. Dixon,
We apologize about your lost article but in a business like this these things happen. (This is when I realise that I have recieved my first apology for the whole thing, yet they try to alieviate their fault, by saying it happens all the time. I don\'t give a crap.)
We have contacted S&K Mensware and found their suits sell between $199 and $399. (Read here we looked up on the internet at what they had on their website.)
We decided to go middle of the road and went at $250. ( Which I found insulting. Who the hell are they to judge what price range a person bought their suit at? And to top it off $250 would not have been the middle of the road between $199 and $399, $299 would have.)
Due to the date you say you purchased the suit we have determined thru the assclown guide to material wear (or something like that) that a 50% depretiation in value is in order. (Depretiation? On a suit that was worn four possibly five times? Like Hell.)
Please contact us with the reciept if you have a dispute with this price.(WTF, who keeps a reciept for a suit for two years?)
I decided to let Stephanie, my wife, handle it, due to the fact that I might end up choking the shit out of someone.
Stephanie says no problem and get\'s Visa to fax a copy of the purchase made at S&K.
So, I come home yesterday, yes, almost a full month after I dropped the damned suit off to begin with, I find Stephanie on the phone with the Manager of the Kean\'s stores.
Apparently, they have found my jacket. Due to the long time and tthe utterly unprofessional way we have been treated they let us keep the check.
YES! The common man wins.
Stephanie continues talking to the woman for an hour like they\'ve been buddies forever and the woman tell\'s Steph to pick up a job application, that they need dependable managers.
Frigging Weird.
