the dumbest mini related question or situation

so i am reminded of ritual mentioning something that he heard someone ask on this forum that just sounded ....well....dumb...

whats the dumbest question you have seen someone ask here or at your LGS mini related?

i have a few

a 30 something year old guy walks in with a warjack, painted horribly with bits of gel coming out of its joints.

me: why is there large amounts of glue gun glue on your miniatures joints? you do know you can use super glue to do this.

guy: wait a sec..... you mean i shouldnt be using elmers glue and sealing it with a glue gun?

me: yeah....umm how long have you been doing this?

guy: 2 years now. what do you think of my painting?

stunned silence for the rest of the time.

#2: dumb blonde from the rich side comes in. and proceeds to ask stupid questions. like

a: so how do you shrink them down?

b: whats that thingy on that thing on that one?

c: you must have lots of patience.... giggles...... i only have enough patience to paint my nails.

all of these questions were asked in a valley girl accent.


3. there is a huge display in front of our painting table that says

miniature painting Saturdays 10-2 pm. we are talking 2x3 feet. this guy walks in and sees 10 people painting and asks.

so do you guys paint here?

Well, I do not have alot of those really dumb ones to report besides the usual \'did you paint this yourself?\' and such, but I´d like to ask uberdark a question :
Waht is a valley girl accent? I speak german with a russian accent and english with a german accent (os so people say) but a vally girl accent - must be something special and very rare.
Just curious.

stood in front of the COnfrontation departement in a local store , holding a blister that says in big red letters CONFRONTATION, plus you could see the status card .

kid: Sorry, can you tell me why theres no Letter on this one telling me how expensive it is ? And what WHFB Army belongs it to

me: ehhh.... That´s not GW, kid.

kid: Wait there are other companys who produce minis?

one of the guys who works for my local game store had a mother coming in last week, asking him all kind of questions about the lord of the ring game, finally, she drops the most important question:

of course, she asked in german but still... - what was he supposed to answer

It\'s like ya know, a California accent, you know, with lots of attitude. Fur sure!


I\'m not very good at it but that\'s an example. Think of the movie Romey and Michelle\'s high school Reunion and add lots of gum chewing and \"Fur sure\"s and \"ya know\"s in. Basically what you would think of as your typical Cali blonde sounding like.

The Valley Girl accent, also called valspeak, is from California (named for the San Fernando Valley if I remember correctly).
