So our camera broke. We were sad and everyone shed a tear, but now it\'s time to move on. It is time to regain the old ability to take pictures of crappily painted miniatures and put them on teh INTARWEB!
And as you lot are some knowledgable people, I was kinda hoping for your help.
As already stated, our old camera broke and my father wants a new one. He is prepared to pay 200€ or a little more - less if possible. Still we are looking for the best bang for our buck, so to speak (no exploding camera tips, please). My father has three basic ideas he needs his camera to fulfill:
a) Must use SD cards. Pretty much every camera does that, so that\'s not really a big problem.
b) Ease of use. He was not able to fine-tune our old camera, and by fine tune I mean \"activate or deactivate flash\". I need the camera to be simple to use - basically point and shoot. I will manage all the options and I am prepared to read up on it, but the camera needs to be configured once and then never needs to bother him again.
c) The camera must be able to record video and, if possible, sound. Also, and that is what I would like, if possible not in a proprietary file type - I really have a hard time explaining why my parents can\'t watch their Quicktime videos on the DVD player.
So basically the camera will be used to take photos when my parents are on vacation or to document our house, things like that - basic everyday use. I will also use the camera to take photos of my miniatures, so a good macro would be nice.
