The end

Hi all!
This is a quick paint-job (3 days) I did on this amazing miniature by Thomas David.
I wanted to immortalize the last istant of the girl's life... you can understand it looking at the 2 metaphors in the scene:
- the last leaf of trees
- the last page of the book... the end of the story (of her life).

Her eyes are closed (I think it's difficult to understand by the pic).

It was a simple project but I liked painting her! ^__^

Hope you like it!

bye, rapaz :)

Regretfully for me it doesn't work.
While I totally appreciate the quality of painting of the girl, without the written explanation the story /concept was just lost.

While I'm probably just being a little obtuse I can't see the correlation between the girls dress and the scenic base and how it relates to the concept.

Painting is still great.

Funny, I was thinking much the same thing. I didn't understand how it all tied together, and the leaf being the same color as it's surroundings mean I didn't even notice it. Perhaps if it was a single green leaf on the tree it would stand out more.

Agree that the painting is nice though.

I really like it but the concept also doesn't really work for me. Maybe it needs some leaves still green and dying or about to die.
But that paintjob is pretty cool.

Beautiful paint-job, but I agree, the concept is not readily grasped...but hey, as long as you like it and get it, thats all that counts.

Capito Rapaz. :) Perhaps if the leaf was suspended to look like it is still falling or a single leaf is at her feet and many leaves are on the ground? Beh, lo stesso, bellissimo lavoro! Tre giorni??? Ottimo! :D

Well, just the words "the end" helped me 'get it' right away.

Well done, stunning paint job. Even if it does take some time for people to recognize what's going on, that is ok. I like the story it tells.
