This is my 3rd figure ever. A few firsts for me:

First time painting human flesh.
First time messing around with NMM. Armor, sword and inside of shield.
First time trying free-hand on shield.
First time actually painting a base.

NOTE: The figure seems glossy but I sprayed the crap out of it with GW matte finish. Yet its still glossy..can someone recommmend a better matte finish product?

I like how the bronze armor came out.

Even matt finish will look glossy if you put too much on. Usually people for gaming minis spray glossy varnish on and when that\'s totally dry give one or two passes with matt varnish.

oh, and isn\'t that Reaper? not Rackham?

Yeah it is. =) I fixed it on my listing. I\'m to wet under the ears to venture into Rackham figures atm.
Don\'t resist too long - they\'re a joy to paint.

As for this young lafy, for a first attempt at human flesh you\'ve done brilliantly. Also, the metals generally look good. Weak points are the shield (freehand and rear look a bit rough) and maybe the helmet crest could do with a bit more depth/highlighting. The base is a bit dull but as I guess it represents an arena floor it does the job.

For a third mini you\'re putting some (many) of us to shame...

...stop it  lol

Great job, I espically like the back of the shield and the way the helm turned out, though with the colors you chose the helm looks more like it\'s been enameled than bare metal (but it does look good). The metal studs at the bottom of the skirt need a hard line to seperate them from the leather.

Your gonna be hot-stuff in no time. :drunk:

Your 3rd figure ever looks better than what I can do (and I\'ve painted like 20). I like the coloring of the NMM on the helmet. Smooth painting. Great job!
