The Great Cthulhu

Well, maybe the "Kinda Okay Cthulhu," anyway. This is my first posting here in many a year, so I thought I'd throw it to the wolves on the forums. Any comments are appreciated.

nice. not my favorite model but i think you've done an admirable job. i really like that you gave it an undersea base. a little more subtle color variation and a lil more hi-lighting might make it more striking.

i like the red eye.

I absolutely LOVE anything Cthulhu or Cthulhu-related. This is a great paint job. I really like your use of greens, especially how they fade at the tentacles. And the base - suggesting an undersea scene - is a cool idea and also very well done. Looking forward to seeing more of your stuff....

Voted and commented. I really enjoyed this mini when I painted one, lucky for us that Reaper were willing to thinly skirt the edges of IP law (the copyright status of Cthulhu is an interesting question) to produce it, huh?

Thanks for the comments, everyone. Once all the prep work was done, it was a pretty easy fig to paint. The prep work was a bear, though, especially considering that the mold had mis-registered slightly on the body, creating a lip instead of a seam. There's a ton of green stuff on this guy. Anyway, thanks for the comments. I'm hoping to get back into painting some more, so it helps.

welcome back! all that prep work you did doesn't show a bit - which is a very good thing. few problems with a mini are worse than an offset cast.
