Whiskey and women...
...great going down but they both leave you with a terrible hangover!!! ( Sorry, but I felt I need to contibute to the Ale and Whores referencing.)
OK, now with that out of the way, on to more serious stuff...
I read this thread and have resisted the temptation to reply until now. In my heart I wished you well although I suspected the outcome that eventually unfolded. For what it worth I have a few pearls of wisdom to share, take them as good solid advice or totally disregard them, it\'s all your choice. First off I am happy that you found love at least once in your life. Some people never get this chance, but you did. But in today\'s mixed up world often love is not enough to survive on its own and your love fell victim to time, distance and many other factors that are tragic but unfortunately all to common. So now you seem faced with a choice of what to do. You can keep that flame alive for her, secretly plot ways of winning her back, while drowning your sorrows in alcohol, and comparing every woman you meet back to her since she seems to be the perfect standard to judge women by, OR you can remember the past foundly, find contentment that she is happy and move forward to whatever fate has in store for you. My opinion is that only the latter choice works, trust me I have loved and lost several times in my life, but the way I look at it is if you truly loved her you want her happy. So take solice that she has found happiness and live your life in the present not anguishing over the past and \"What if..\". Who knows the next perfect relationship may be closer than you think but you will never see it if your vision is clouded by the ghost of your past. That place in your heart that she had may never fully heal but trust me my friend, years from now you may amaze yourself by what you thought was ideal when you meet that next pefect woman who is truly amazing and deserving of your love and attention!!! Good luck
