@Markus Tay: The Narnia series is more than just a little allegorical. Almost every character and event can be linked to a biblical antecedent. I did read some of Foundation, and while I like Asimov, it just didn\'t hold my attention. Asimov was such a prolific writer though.

I believe it\'s the other way around, satanisme is derived from christian religions. Well actually with all those talks about evil things and devil they created it pretty much.

Really? The only thing I remember much of from Asimov is his Black Widowers books. I can\'t see how he possibly tied that series in. How about his sci-fi mysteries, like the Bells on the Moon (or somesuch)?
He was a pretty clever mystery writer, though not too up on his psychology.

perhaps you meant Lewis Carol? C.S. Lewis was raised Christian in north Ireland. From roughly age 16 to age 31 he professed atheism, but then he apparently had an epiphany on a bus and decided he had to acknowledge a God. From then on, all of his writings revolved around Christianity.

We are all entitled opinions, but just slamming other\'s religious beliefs is making this thread very uncomfortable.

Back to Harry Potter after I read the ending, I had trouble sleeping, it bugged me. My brother had the same reaction.

on the Harry Potter side...ok, so I read the first 4 books, I still listen to HP news, I go to see the movies, I accept that Witchcraft is a Satanic Ritual...but Harry Potter is a non-religeous peice of fiction, so therefore is not based on satanism, so I dont see what all the fuss is...

If he is intelligent then perhaps he is referring to the confusion that often arises between Satan and the Horned God of Pagan beliefs. This is a common misconception, the Horned God actually being the Huntsman and master of the wild hunt. Many un-informed individuals make this mistake, associating Satanism with Paganism, neither of which has anything to do with TRUE witchcraft, which is closer to Goddess Worship.

I too am a Christian, not a Catholic. I\'m not sure which I hate worse; self-righteous Catholics for thinking they have all the answers, or self-righteous Christians for hating Catholics because they REALLY have all the answers...

No one has all the answers, all we can do is live our lives to the best of our ability and BE the best person we can when dealing with others... and hope whatever is waiting for us on the other side appreciates that we tried our best.

About Harry Potter - I also had a little trouble digesting the end. It all seemed so... unfulfilling. 652 pages of drivel and then... THAT?! I mean, throw us a bone, willya Rowling. That\'s what we\'ve come to expect, lots a mindless garbage in the middle and then a big (good) payoff in the end. That just made me not want to read the next one. If you wanted a dog to come back for more, would you POISON it\'s dog-food?! It just left me with a bad taste in my mouth...

@Markustay 652 pages??? The one I read had 607, did you get bonus content or was mine missing something? I liked the ending of the book, it leaves a lot of questions unanswered. I have my own theory on what a certain Professor\'s motives were towards the end of the book and just have to wait two years too see if i\'m right

Got to agree with some of the earlier comments, debating and questioning religion is fine by me but just calling it sh**e is pointless.
