Awesome! Its nice to see some musical artists who aren\'t drowning in sophomoric wish-fulfillment fantasies, but who can actually creatively engage with the world as it runs.

Yes, but I don\'t see how the guys who did this little autotune video, clever though it may be, is \"actually creatively engaging with the world as it runs\". They just seem to be poking fun at people. Nothing wrong with that, though... The air-guitar-playing Hugo Chavez is priceless! :D

\"sophomoric wish-fulfillment fantasies\"

Seriously, most music on earth is about this stuff, especially relationships and the chasing of the perfect one. I point you to The Wedding Present, a band that has propered on this style for a couple of decades. Fantasist genius :).

To have enough awareness of the world to tease people in power - and without sounding pretentious - puts these folks rather higher on my list than most musicians.

I\'m curious to know who you are referring to with \"most musicians\".

I\'m talking about most of the folks I see performing locally, as well as many of the acts I hear on the radio. My opinion might be the result of a subjective bias on my part, but it is what I see.

Sounds more like \"some musicians\" than \"most musicians\" then. The reason I was asking was because purely as music this song is awful. It is not something I would think many people would put on their home stereo when they want to hear some good music. As comedy, another thing entirely. But how do you compare comedy to music? It\'s two entirely different things.
