Maybe the quality of the voice acting isn't as good but ultramarines even manages to get quality actors sound crap. Bad pauses ruined the dialogue and the only good thing the film had going for it!

Well that looked very nice actually.

Wish they would hire someone who knows sound... like me! ;) That's often the biggest difference between something feeling pro or amateur nowadays when it comes to short film or animations.

Well it looks like he is doing it by himself so not money is exchanging hands. Maybe you should offer to do some work for free, if the film does well, it'll be a great credit to you

I might give it a thought, 40 minutes is a lot to do foley work on though. If they're doing it for free they might not realise that there are ways to fund these kinds of projects. I am producing a 15 minute short film right now and while the budget is not large it would still be more then enough to get the sound you'd want for this short feature film.

But I am guessing external funding might be problematic if it wants to be recognised/not banned by GW perhaps. I don't know how they define fanfilms.

i´m kinda sick of people comparing anything made after 1998 to ultramarine, ultramarine was a mess. A MESS I TELL YOU!

Ultramarine wasnt a mess Ischa it was a devastating disapointment, a miserable let down like waiting all year long for that special christmas present and getting a pair of socks, i would lol but its not funny. When amatuers have more skill than the so called proffessionals its just unbelievable.

It's not that unbelievable I know lots of amateur painter with more skills then many professionals. :) In the end GW probably got what they paid for, had they instead got people who had their heart in it like this guy the result would be different.

Love this....and hate the utramarines movie. Lots of potential in 40k movies, sad they have never been realised.

A live action dark heresy series would be epic.....leading up to the season finale of seeing a space marine:D

I am I sorry forgot that but now I remember. It makes the failure of the graphics of Ultramarines weird because if they are an upcoming company that wants to do something cool to get more clients surely they'd want it to look its best. Saw that Codex pictures collaborated with Pop6 that produced this piece of turd.

Now Ultramarines wasn't bad but it wasn't good either. It was just a big "meh". I didn't have much expectations to begin with though.

Got introduced to this little Steampunk beauty through another forum yesterday.
34 minutes of excellent work, really good FX, reasonable acting(*) and all done for 1800 Aus dollars.

(*Well far better than Beastbenders & Corporation sleet)
