The Matrix Reloaded

The Matrix is definetly not just an action movie, first off all the storie existed long befor the movie was made and was not writen in such a way has to please an audience, neither was it filmed that way. And actually if you count they are about 3 action scenes in the matrix. And, if you look at all the references that where used in making the story you\'d be amazed to see all the cultur that is contained in the matrix. It contains references from diferent religions, from famous philosophe essays and much more. And if you go read the essays at the link I posted befor you\'ll see that it is a very philosophical movie.
Now reloaded, is another matter entirely. It was done after the uge sucese of Matrix and so was filmed in such a way to please a large audience, wich means: lots of action, more action, some complicated sentences to make you feel stupid, and a love scene which is by the way complitly usless.

What is the Matrix trying to say? The same thing that Philip K Dick likes to say...What is reality? No matter what your reality level is...We all have a drive to survive and understand our Percieved Reality.

Agent Smith is very similar to Neo. They both want to survive. If I had to say who was more powerful...I would give the nod to Agent Smith. Agent Smith is more than a virus in a computer system. He\'s a virus that has learned how to copy himself at will with no outside help. He\'s also learned how to jump out of his restricted enviroment.

If anyone is a threat to the Matrix...it\'s not Neo, it\'s Agent Smith. He is the total unknown.

I would bet we see Agent Smith have an enlightnment in the 3rd movie. To permanantly break his servitude to the Matrix (without himself being deleted), he will join forces with Neo.

Now...if it is a Matrix in a Matrix...why go through all the trouble of destroying the city...Reset the program and start over. But if it\'s not a Matrix in a Matrix...how is Neo taking his powers into the Real World?

Could this be a \"Total Recall\" type story? Where everything is a construct of Neo\'s brain including Agent Smith. Is Agent Smith another personality of the deranged Neo? ??? ???

Forget Matrix2:The Big dissapointment, watch Equilibrium!

Forget Matrix2:The Big dissapointment, watch Equilibrium!

Just do yourself a favor and rent/buy Equilibrium. Now that\'s a real sci-fi movie without all the hype. It plays on an old theme, but it\'s done well.

Sorry to be a party pooper, but I thought that this film was a real disapointment and I\'m frustrated on the popularity it has. I like the 1st one but this 2nd part really is (mostly) an action film with a few sci-fi, thought provoking elements thrown in (which IMO, isn\'t enough to save the film).

There\'s too many story holes and unexplained things going on for my tastes. During most of the film, all I saw was a sequel churning out big bucks cause they catered mostly to the high testosterone, young guy crowd.

Lets thrown in a whole bunch of explosions, and slow down the action in a fight for no apparent reason other than to look cool rather than to explain how he\'s dodging bullets. Not to mention the cool outfits they get. Hmm...
What else? Oh yea, guys like half naked teen bodies, and they like raves so lets just put that in the movie too. Oh, and DON\'T forget the too long sex scene. I got the picture the 1st few seconds, no need to keep showing off their bodies and switching to more dancing bouncing breasts. Really, I was looking forward to a sci-fi movie, not this chud.

And lets not even go into explanations on Neo\'s fumbled, held back powers.

I guess I was really expecting Reloaded to be more like Animatrix. Much better, all story, not chock full of marketing chud to be 1 week success.

Sorry for the ramble.
(Hope I didn\'t start a flaming war).

Well actually the main point of the 3rd movie, is neo trying to fight agent smith wich has become the reall threat. Now how much do you wanna bet :D

all this talk is giving me a headache. i have to say that i feel the first was the best. i was a little dissapointed by the second but it may be better viewing after the third is released. if you think the film is being pretentious (i think thats how it is spelt - damn these long words!) or you can see big holes in the plot, just sit back and enjoy the action scenes. and who said that xena has better actions scenes, go on, stand up - now hit yourself!

did anyone stay though the credits and watch the preview for the third? coo, it looks fun!

- \"the high testosterone, young guy crowd\" - I think that refers to me and my kin, well, I agree this was more of an action movie than anything else, but I wouldn´t say it became less sc-fi because of it, ´cause there was still much futuristic stuff; it´s true. they could have done without the rave thingy (reminded me of the Love Parade here in Berlin ) but I think it gave a bit of an idea about the zion people (merry and happy - even at the edge of doom! ) - anyway, I´m looking for the third part, but honestly, I hardly care, as there is a much bigger movie in the cinemas now- just look at my avatar:cool:

\"John O\'connor it is time\"
Sorry to say so but terminator would not be what I call a good movie. The wholle thing is just dumb actions scenes one after another. There is a simily of a story somwhere in there, story which has been used coutnless times, Send sombody back in time to save the world, bnot the most original thing you could think of. Well anyway I havn\'t seen the three yet so I\'ll hold back my coments until I see it.

well, I must admit that I haven´t seen T3 yet as it starts on the 31st July here in Germany - so I really have to wait; I´ve read some reviews on it however, this is a particularly good one:http://movies.kikizo.com/reviews/cinema/terminator3.asp
frenchkid: it´s true the idea is old´, but it originally belonged to the terminator series, for the first part had it back in 1984 - it´s true T3 won´t probably be as smart as the Matrix series is, but it´s one of the things I particularly like about it - IT IS TIME -

it is just a movie...BUT

I was entertained by the Matrix2, and that is always my determining factor if it was a good or bad movie.

BUT, I just have a question about the city \"Zion\". From what they show you in the movie, the city is filled with hot lusty hardbodies, all super cool and very good looking. Even the \'older\' folks were great. They were all dancing and having a nice \'community\' time.

I realize they were celebrating something, but I just think the city could have been protrayed as a little more oppressed, paranoid and dismal.

Just a little complaint.

Even after reading all these comments, I still am confused by the plot, but nonetheless, still enjoyed the movie.

;);)

I\'m also not a big fan of that scene...(think it needs to be cut down in length) ...but I understand why they did it.

I think they where celebrating Life...what better way to end your existance than in enjoyment of life.

T3 rules Matrix drools!

The French guy doesn\'t like T3. This from a society that worships Jerry Lewis. I\'m from the USA so I have to cheap shot the French whenever I get the chance. T3 was awesome! Best movie of the Summer! Hulk was disappointing as was Xmen 2. Can\'t wait for The Return of the King though. Hopefully, The Hobbit, wont be far behind. Haven\'t seen Pirates of the Carribean yet.

Hey!

Xena is a trillion times better than the Matrix! Especially the Callisto episodes, God, why don\'t they make a mini of her! And Bill and Ted\'s excellent adventure was a million times better than Matrix. But the Matrix is better than Keanu\'s band.lol

I don\'t think this forum is a place to bring up any problem you have with a group of people. And just so you know, I consider my self to be as American as anyone could be.

Just kidding

It was a joke... chill dude. I have much french blood in my veins. My great great great grandfather rode with Napoleon. Napoleon also left him to die in a snow bank.

dialogues are often complicated. it seems the are only to give a more deep look to the story....and the piece with Bellucci is unnecessary and doesn\'t mean a thing

Oh...Monica was anything but unnecessary...

She shows us that Machines are evolving...taking on qualities that Agent Smith abhors...The machines are partaking of the 7 Deadly Sins...(She displays Anger, her husband displays Gluttony, Lust, and Greed)

I\'m sure if we look closely we could probably find the machines partaking of Pride, Sloth, and Envy...

and I still stand by my coments on Agent Smith...Agent Smith will have an Enlightnment...and step to the next level...The Oracle didn\'t lie when she said that Neo wasn\'t the chosen one...Agent Smith is the chosen one...
