I\'ve got hold of a Sega Master System Emulator for the PC. Nearly a thousand quid spent on a computer and I\'m playing games from 15 years ago! Populous is arse-kickingly good, but I need a wee joypad. My fingers are killing from using the keyboard :(

I\'ve recently been doing the same, after finding the wonderful site www.abandonia.com which is full of old games. I\'m currently playing through X-com Apocalypse which is an old favourite.

Nice stuff! I was trying for an Amiga emulator but they\'re more difficult to obtain. I\'ve been running arcade emulations for a little while now as well, especially the might Track and Field. Green Beret is a great nostalgia trip too, as is Gauntlet. Wonderboy in Monsterland anyone?

I always keep my original nintendo emulator around, just for Zelda 1 :D

Sega master system for Giares (I think that\'s the name, one of the best side scrolling shooters ever!), and Road Rash :)

i\'ve actually got a NES controler that plugs into my comp\'s USB. It\'s plug and play too, so no drivers needed.:D

Aaah, but now we are causing confusion, you see quid is unambiguous, but dollars are not. Australian dollars? New Zealand? Canadian? American? Could be quite a difference there...

Damn fine game that, possibly my favourite for the Super Nintendo. It gets insanely hard way before the levels run out though if the Sega version is equivalent, I think about 120 or so the enemy\'s manna just builds so quickly that it\'s impossible to compete as a mere mortal.

1000 quid is about $2500 in OZ. I set up an emulator in an old tv and set it into a coffee table. Took a bit of work but looked great in my bar. Trouble is it broke and I couldnt be stuffed fixing it. Should give it a go one day.

Just picked up this classic

The Atari Flashback 2 for my eight year old and I\'m giving it to him on Friday for his birthday. My wife and I can\'t wait to play it... errrr... with HIM of course...

;)lol

suckers got 40 built in games and looks just like the original!

@ Reverend. For an Amiga emulator try WinUAE, I use it and it pretty good. Easy to find on google, the Kickstart Roms are a bit harder to find. Easy to set up a USB joystick as well.

NeoRage for the Neo Geo games. I just can\'t get enough of the samurai showdowns, last blade, and all the other fighting games. The best arcade games are the metal slug series. They all run great on a laptop with a joypad.

Its funny how new games have become so \'graphic\' intesive, that they usually miss the most important part...They are supposed to be fun!

I like the eye candy as much as the next guy, but man, modern day game coders could learn a lesson or two from those early games.

Quite right, but I\'ve also realised that a lot of games from my youth were weak on both scores lol Still, the classics are just that - some of the best games ever despite their looks.

Cheers for the Amiga link, but it is those kickstart programmes that I really need to get my hands on. I know I can buy one, but that defeats the nostaglia!

And cheers Scott for the image that is burnt into my thoughts now...trousers around ankles, fist shaking (after scoring of course)....
